Has anyone had a Yorkie with a budging disc that recovered?? I am terrified that I might lose my sweet little Abby. She has been in lots of pain walking and has lost alot of control of her back legs. I can't recall a recent fall she might have had, but she does have bad hips and knees so it might have happened when I wasn't around. The Vet put her on high does steroids after the NSAID didn't help. Spinal surgery seems like it is no guarantee either. I am hoping for some positive experiences. Abby is only 6 1/2. |
Spine We had a Yorkie that got bite by a Husky and after 2 months lost control of her from legs, after the Vet did a special xray by sedating her and streching her spine she came back to normal. |
I have no experience with this, but wishing Abby all the best. Hope she feels better soon. |
sorry i know very little about this but there is a member on here who has a little wheel chair for her yorkie because he can't use his back legs either. After a few days of learning how to use it he seems pretty happy :) try searching Wheel Chair on here and see if that thread comes up! |
Hi there I am the one with the little guy in the wheelchair... His is his back legs but they do make wheelchairs for back legs.. Please if you have a minute check out Babybear's dogster page at Dog profile for Wheelie Boy Babybear, a male Yorkshire Terrier you will see him in his wheelchair.. But I have to ask are you seeing your regular vet or are you seeing a specialist?? I would recommend seeing a specialist and does your doc know for sure with xrays that it is a disc?? Please if you would like PM me and I will try to help with more information.. I am here for you if you need information.. I am so sorry to hear about your baby still being in pain.. |
Steriods help recovery from bulging disc! I so relieved that Abby has regained the use of her back legs and isn't in pain anymore. She was on 10 mg of Prednisone for 4 days 2x/day, then 4 days 1x/day and now every other day for 4 doses. She still is unable to get up on the couch, but she is able to bounce again. :) Thank you all for your concern. |
