Really shaky, wobbly..Charlie is sick!! Hoping the few that are still up can help me out. Charlie threw up twice. He ate dinner around 6p.m. and started throwing up about 30 mins ago. He is very shaky, wobbly, can't really walk, his nose is dry, he is laying down now but is just staring, he just stopped shaking. I gave him some syrup and he drank a little bit of water. What now? The only thing I can think of is I gave him a few little pieces of my steak from dinner. Maybe it made him sick since I never give him table food. Suggestions please!!:animal-pa |
I really don't know what to say other than if you think it is serious to take him in. If you never give your pup table scraps I would say that the grease may be upsetting his tummy. Praying everything is okay. |
...... hhhhmmmm .... I honestly don't know what could be wrong .... hopefully somebody will ...... hope your Baby will be ok .... |
I agree...steak was probably too much for his little system to handle. You may want to feed him lightly tomorrow...chicken and rice is usually good for an upset tummy. Make sure he drinks plenty to keep him hydrated and syrup or Nutrical to keep his sugar level up. Hope he and you are able to get some rest tonight and all will be better in the morning. Why do these things have to happen in the middle of the night, when our imaginations work over time and there's no one to call for help? Seriously, I do hope and pray he'll be just fine. |
Here's a number to an emergency vet clinic: Address: 3021 Edinger Ave., Tustin, CA 92780 Phone: (949) 654-8950 Give them a call and they will let you know if you need to take him in. I'm assuming you are in Orange County. This happened to my Zeus a couple of weeks ago, and I rushed him to this clinic. He threw up and was very listless. They ran a bunch of test on him to rule out anything serious. He was dehydraded and they had to administer fluids subq. |
I am keeping a close eye on him. I just don't think I will be able to sleep until he is better. I tried getting him to walk and he is still off balance, seems lethargic. He is very sleepy but I keep talking to him trying to keep him up because I am freaked out that something else can happen. I don't think I can wait to take him in to see the vet. What other symptons would cause further concern? |
The emergency clinic I listed is open 24 hours. You should call them. Maybe they could give you some advice. |
He just threw up again, very little, he seems to be feeling better after that, more responsive now. I am going to call the number you provided. Thank you so much, all of you, glad I am not by myself on this. My two kids are up and so worried about Charlie they can't sleep either, they heard me calling my husband when he started getting sick and don't want to leave his side. Thanks again! |
How is he doing now? Keep us posted. |
Just checking up on Charlie.I hope he is better and they were able to get a few hours of sleep |
So, how is Charlie today...hope he's feeling better...please let us know, when you can. |
I agree the steak probably upset his tummy. Hopefully the vet gave him something to make him feel better. Keep us posted. |
Just checking in to see how Charlie is doing. |
After posting my last comment last night, Charlie came around. I held off on the vet since he seemed much better. This morning he was back to his normal spunky self, fully alert. We are so happy he is fine now. Must have been that steak for sure!! Won't ever do that again. He ate his breakfast just fine, and is drinking water well. So thanks to everyone again! |
Yea...I am so happy Charlie is doing well today, what a relief that must be for you. I know we worry when our little ones aren't feeling well. |
