Hives and Loose Bloody stools I had Copper in to my vet Thursday, Friday and Today. He started out with itching, and I noticed he was broken out with hives on his tummy, throat, inside of legs, etc. His eyes and face are also red. I took him in and they gave him two shots of benadryl. When he came home, the hives were gone, but he was very anxious and kept going off by himself. The next morning he vomited twice within one hour. I took him back to the vet. They gave him a nausea shot. Again he came home very aggitated. This morning, the hives were back, so we went back to the vet. He told me to change his food to Hills ZD to see if it might be a food allergy. He has been on Solid Gold for over a year now. Also, I am supposed to give him 1/2 tablet children's benadryl....2 to 3 times a day and check back with the vet on Monday. Copper has had several loose and some bloody stools today. Does any one have any advice on how to help my little guy? Thanks, Ann |
Poor baby. Has he had any vaccinations recently? Have you had him onnewly fertilized lawns? I'm just trying to fthink of some possibilities. I know Benydryl will make me agitated so that could be why he is anxious. Hopefully someone else will have more ideas. I hope he feels better soon. |
Yes, as a matter of fact, he had his yearly vaccinations about a week ago. Negative on the lawn. Thanks for your input. |
I'm sorry that I do not have any advice.... But we'll be thinking about your baby and hope he is okay soon. |
Thanks so much. I hate to see him not feeling well, and his sister wonders what is wrong. They are so sensitive. |
the loose bloody stool is most likey from the food change or just all the shots, just like if we eat something or have something that makes us feel icky we get sick. They are just so tiny just a little grossness will go a long way. Chewy has really bad food allergies and gets rashes when he gets into something *ANYTHING* he cants have even if it is as small as a peice of popcorn! and it can last for a few weeks :o( hope that helped a little |

I would think that it could be from the rabies. Hopefully will get better soon. |
