vomiting first thing in the morning? Suzi has woke up the last two days and vomited. After that she sleeps more, then is fine the rest of the day. what is causing her to do that? Suzi got back in my bed after the throwing up and I could hear her stomach gurgling. She only vomits once..... But, it has happened twice in a row in the am? What she throws up is food, too:eek: it was a significant amount today:( |
She doesn't throw up the rest of the day? I was going to say that maybe it was b/c her stomach was empty and the acidity was getting to her. I know that Madison will throw up in the morning if I've given him some of their dry food before bedtime (like around 8pm)...the next morning usually really early, he'll vomit a little bit of it. So, I don't give him any of that anymore at night and instead give him some rice and turkey for his "bedtime snack". Occasionally if he has nothing in his stomach for too long of a time, he'll vomit, but then it's just fluid; not food. If she's sleeping all night and doesn't have access to food (so she can't be eating it really fast and then upchucking?), and she's vomiting food, I'd definitely watch her to make sure she's not doing it other times too (a lot of times, they'll throw up food and re-eat it...gross, but Madison does it all the time unless I get to it first to get rid of it:rolleyes: he's fast though!)....and I'd give the vet a call at least. Good luck! |
could her sugar be dropping...i know my vet told me that jus tlike with people, if their suger drops they can get sick and vomit. |
I'm curious to see what other people have to say about this. A.J does this quite a bit, KaCee every once in awhile. He doesn't do it every morning...but he goes in spells. He'll vomit every morning for a couple days and then be fine for a few weeks, and then vomit a couple mornings and then be fine, etc. Just like Suzi, he'll wake up early in the morning, vomit once (normally just food chunks), then he goes back to sleep and is completely fine the rest of the day. I've talked to a vet about it once and was told that sometimes if they don't eat right before bed, they'll vomit in the morning if they're really hungry. I don't know if this is what's going on...seems weird to me though since it's food that's coming up? |
Sure hope you get some answers and maybe a solution that will work. I have 3 yorkies and have never had that happen. Sometimes one of them will eat grass while in the yard and then get sick. So I have to watch them when they are outside. |
Rocky was doing that for a while, not consistently, but it would be for a couple days in a row, then maybe he wouldn't do it for about a month, then start up again. It wasn't food though, just stomach acid. The vet had me give him some liquid benedryl in the morning and at night, I think she said it could've been from sinuses (I know with people that when your sinuses drain it can cause you to be sick and vomit in the morning too) so after doing that for about 3 weeks, and that was in the spring time, he hasn't done it sense..knock on wood. I hope it's nothing serious with your baby, maybe she's just eating too late at night? |
I think I know why she was doing this...... Sometimes, when I am cleaning up after a potty accident Suzi will grab the paper towel I am using, it has the pet odor and stain removal stuff on it, she takes off with it in her mouth. The little stinker is fast. She does not eat the paper towel, put tears it all up, and i am trying to get it away from her. IF any of it gets in her, then it is making her vomit. If that is what it is, she does not throw up for quite sometime afterwards. I feel horrible when that happens. AND of course i try everything to not let her grab the towels. She has not vomited anymore in the mornings, so that is what I think is happening. What do others use to clean up potty accidents? |
