My Phoebe Hospitalized !!!!had C-section/Spap on 7-2-08 Phoebe could not even keep water down. I went to one urgent care center and they said there was a 2 hour wait and referred me to another local one. The Vet was very concerned because Phoebe was dehydrated and her belly was very extended and swollen, (but she looked the same size as when her vet released her!) she also said that Phoebe was very depressed. She took xrays, and it seems Phoebe has an Ileus, She will be hospitalized with IV fluids, antibiotics and pain meds, if she responds to the treatment, she should be home in a few days, if not she will have to have surgery. I am bottle feeding her boys every two hours. Their weights are 5.25 and 5.35 after their feed. I hope I am feeding them enough because they stop nursing and then I get them to pee and poop. Please keep Phoebe and her babies in your prayers. __________________ Melanie Phoebe and Izzy |

Phoebe is Home 3 Attachment(s) :):) Thank you everyone for your prayers, it worked because Phoebe is home:) She was released last night around 9pm. She can not nurse the boys for another week, since she is on alot of medication. She is eating rice and chicken and baby food, and low fat cottage cheese. I am just feeding her a little at a time, I sure she would like more but I do not want to take any chances. SInce she can't nurse the boys for a week do you think her milk will dry up and I will have to hand raise them? Here are some pics of the little ones. |
God bless all of you...How could a vet send you away???? Was he busy with another delivery? Surely, there's an arrangement before the birth, right?:confused::confused: Never went through this, but I'm baffled.! |
How is Phoebe doing?! How are all the cute lil pups?! :) |
Phoebe and Babies update Phoebe and her babies are doing very well thank you. Due to the fact that she was on medication so long and could not nurse, her milk is dried up. I am bottle feeding the babies and they are growing, they are 18 days old today, and gaining well. Their eyes are open now and when they see me with the bottle the crawl over to me:D. I will post new pics very soon along with their weights. |
