Please help...the fireworks have not even started yet, but my baby is freaking out I mean she is beside herself, shaking ,running all over the house, unable to lay still, and this is all because of a few random booms. It is probably an hour before fireworks will start and I am scared to death. I have never see her like this. Her little heart is pounding and I cant comfort her. What will happen when the real fireworks start soon? Can dogs die from fear...I know thats crazy, but im so scared for her. Can I give her anything that will help? Please any advice |
Can you try and make a game out of it? Is there some fireworks on TV that you can show her so she knows what the sound is? Try to associate the booms with something great. Cheer, smile and give her treats. You want her to learn that those booms are fun and nothing to be afraid of. |
I have read on YT: 1ml Childrens Benadryl |
Turn up the tv or radio to drown out some of the noise. |
Im sitting here with 2 tvs on full blast, the radio is on also and the shower. Im ready to go crazy myself with all the noise. I think we will go into the bathroom with the shower on in a few minutes when the fireworks actually start. I will bring my radio in there and also keep the shower on...hope that helps her. Thanks |
What ever you do DON"T baby her it will just make it worse Try & distract her. |
I know how you feel. Deiter didn't do good last night with them shooting them off down the street. But I do have med from my vet that I gave him. But tonight it isn't helping at all. Deiter won't even go outside to potty. Poor little guy. Cozmo just barks at them. Good luck but hopefully after tonight they will all be gone. I did take him in the car and drove around to settle him down and that did work. Can't hear them in there. So that is what I might have to do when they get ready to set them off at the park, which is only 6 blocks from my house |
