I am scared roo threw up sticks (b/c he won't tlet you take them from him, he just swallows) twice today, and now he just lays around and barely eats and is just blah. I don't know if he is just not feeling well from throwing up or if his throat may be sore or what. But I am just scared and need to make sure he is going to be okay. What do you guys think |
Please consider calling the vet first thing in the morning. If Roo isn't eating and is vomiting, he might have some issues related to swallowing the sticks. If a piece of stick got turned the wrong way he might have an obstruction. |
yeah, he does eat a little (half of a natures variety medalian) I definatly will call though anyone ever had something liek this happen or have any other suggestions of what this might be |
Do you have an emergency vet? Throwing up and lethargy after swallowing sticks is not a good sign. As Chattiesmom said, it could be an obstruction. Hopefully it is just an upset stomach though. Is he pooping? I would call a vet immediately. |
I wouldn't take any chances and go to the vet first thing in the morning, especially if he is normally an active puppy. |
ya he pooped.... im going to call the emergency vet i will tell u what he says |
Great that you're calling and great that he pooped.:) He probably isn't obstructed then but since sticks are sharp, I would still be very concerned. |
Going to bed now, but I will say prayers that Roo is ok!! Good luck!! |
:aimeeyork I hope Roo is ok. I worry about the sticks hurting him internally. definately call your vet first thing in the morning.:aimeeyork |
I hope Roo is ok. Is there a way to keep him away from the sticks or are they outside where he goes? I know Roxie picks up things outside so fast! |

Patti, the best option is to train them to "drop it" or to freeze when they hear "STOP". With the yorkies it is a bit harder, but it can be done. |
Hey guys, there is good news I cancelled the vet app. b/c roo is back to normal ad they said they wouldn't do anything... We think that he was dehydrated becasue of throwing up and not drinking a whole lot. So that is really good and now we arre just trying different things to make him drink his water. Thank you for the support and prayers for Roo :) |
