9 week old Keelyn has mucous diahhrea help! My daughter's Toy Yorkie received shots and since has mucous diahhrea and now the clear has changed to yellow! I'm worried! Shes acting PERFECTLY NORMAL!!! No parasites as per test, and seems worse today. Any thoughts?: |
At her age, I'd call the vet FIRST thing in the a.m. and get her back in. Are her gums nice and pink? Is she drinking water and eating? I would get some canned pumpkin at the store and give her some asap. A 9wk old can go down FAST, so please get her to the vet soon. It doesn't mean anything that she is acting fine - they can act fine one minute, and the next be in an emergent state (at this age). Glad you found this board bc there is a lot of support here - so WELCOME! :) :) |
:aimeeyork Did the pup eat something she/he should not have had? I would call the vet ASAP. Be on the safe side .:aimeeyork |

A young pup needs to see the vet if there is any vomiting or diarrhea. Welcome to YT:) |
I've learned that sometimes parasites don't show up in a single fecal test...or a second... It could be giardia which my vet said is the parasite that can go undetected. Take her to the vet right away - my Maggie gets sick but acts perfectly fine. She didn't have a good reaction to her distemper vaccination - vomitted for 2 days - with the next vaccination, the vet gave her benedryl before the shot and it worked beautifully! Keep us posted! |
