Night Vomiting Chewie vomited the night before last once and then twice last night. I didn't think anything of it until he did it again last night. Then he turns around and re-eats what he just threw up. Anyone have any ideas about what may be going on before I get him into the vet? |
Bailey occasionally vomits and then (ugh) eats it. Sometimes it happens if I give her something other than her dogfood. I feed her "Sensitive Stomach - Hill's". My problem isn't vomiting so much as loose bowels because she has colitis. If your dog's vomiting continues for a period of time and she stops eating or drinking, I would take her to the vet. |
I know he hasn't eaten anything other than his own food and these episodes have never happened before. Does teething cause vomiting by chance? Also, when does the puppy food stop and the regular adult food begin? Chewie also eats Hills puppy bites because it seems to keep his poops more solid and less frequent plus he loves it to death. |
I dont know what might be going on, Just wanted to say I hope he's ok. Best wishes. |
Well, I hope you Puppy is ok ... and I WOULD CALL and have the Vet check it out .... just in Case ... better safe then sorry .... Tons of hugs and kisses for the little :aimeeyork |
My Madison vomits at night sometimes. He has some gastritis and is on Pepcid AC. I feed him Hill's W/D b/c of that, along with a mixture of white rice and turkey (and the only reason I feed the rice/turkey is b/c I had been feeding it to him when he was having lots of GI problems before I took him to the vet, and it seems like whenever I try to cut back on the rice mixure, he starts having problems again, so I'm just going to continue it) for their "main meals"... I feed them twice a day with the canned food and then, in between, they get "snacks" of the dry W/D. They get a little snack around 8 pm and it seems like whenever I give Madison the dry kibble then, he winds up vomiting sometime during the night (and yes, he re-eats it if I'm not fast enough). So I've taken to giving him a little more of the rice mixture instead. It's weird, b/c he does fine eating the kibble during the day; but every time I've given it to him before bedtime, he gets sick. And I think I read somewhere that if their stomach is overactive, it's better for them to have a little something in it ~ whenever it's been too long between meals (mainly after sleeping all night), if Madison doesn't get fed right away, his stomach really starts rumbling. If it were me, I'd try a little boiled white rice an hour or so before bed and see if it helps settle his tummy....or maybe mashed potatoes. |
My monkey vomits at night whenever she has an empty belly... its always just a foam and liquid tho... yours sounds more like there is already food in his belly. Id call the vet and run it by them. |
