Tiki's Trachea Hello all. It has been as stressful few weeks as Tiki just had a stent placed in his trachea which had a phase III collapse. Does anyone have any experience with these stents, and how long they can last. The vet likes to skirt around giving me best and worst case scenario. I am worried it may be only weeks or months I have left with the little guy. please help. |
I don't have experience with this, but I hope someone on here might be able to help. Do you think maybe it's time for a second opinion? I have some experience w/ cardiac stents and they can last for years. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. :( |
Thank you for replying, we are going to the Animal Medical Center right now to have his follow up with the surgeon. Hoping for the best. |
Please keep us posted - I would love to hear good news for this little guy. I'll be thinking about him! :) |
Tiki's Trachea Update Well, we received some good news. The stent has not moved at all, and I actually was able to see the before and after X-rays. Tiki would not be with us anymore had we not rushed him in and intubated him. The doctor said we need to continue to monitor, but the stent will hopefully give "the manser" a long happy life. Thanks for your support. |
Oh how scary that must have been. I am so happy to see Tiki is doing well...lots of smoochies for him!! and a hug for you! |
Thanks, I never realized how much I loved him until this. He's the man. My buddy. How do I ad that avitar thing so I can upload a picture of him? |
I am so happy the stent is working out. |
This avatar thing is killing me, i have it down to 70pixels by 70pixels, and have tried it as a .bmp, and .jpg. Anyone know why this would not work. |
