protein in urine I had to take Darla to the vet. this afternoon. She acted like she didn`t feel good, & I thought she might have a U.T.I. Her peepee smelled real strong & real yellow. The vet said that she had protein & some white blood cells in her urine. Has this ever happened to any one else`s baby?:animal-pa |
 |
Did they do bloodwork too? |
No, they gave me an antibodtic for her & told me if she wasn`t any better Monday they would do bloodwork & x-rays of her kidneys. The vet said that she didn`t want to scare me but it could indicate "glomerulonephritis" (kidney failure). She told me that they diagnosed a 4mth. old yorkie with this about 2 mths. ago. She`s still alive but very little, with no appetite. I just pray that the antibodtic clears it all up, no test needed!!! |
I was thinking it could be a problem in the kidneys....I would definitely have the bloodwork done anyway just to make sure everything is okay. |

YES, I`m very scared!! I asked if her food could be to rich or if I needed to change her food. the vet. said that the food wouldn`t cause any protein in the urine. I googled it & some people seem to think different. I`ll do what I have to do of course!! She played alittle more this morning. She won`t eat much. I soaked her food in water she liked that a little better. Do you give your babies water from the faucet or bottled water? |
Definitely bottled :) |
I hope she's okay! I don't have experience with this in dogs, but I do in myself! For me it turned out to be a damaged kidney. I hope it's nothing too serious with your furbaby! |
Oh,sorry to hear about your kidney. I`m just hoping her`s is a kidney infection, that`s bad enough. Those things hurt!!:( She`s only had 2 of her Clavamox so far.She has no appetite.Which that`s never been good. |
