need a little advise - Our little Oso decided it would be okay to eat a piece of a box - about 1/2 inch long, by the time we tried to get it out of his mouth, he had swallowed. I dont know what we should do, will he pass something like this or do we need to take him to a vet:confused: I'm hoping someone can help! |
Was it just a little thin piece of cardboard? If he chewed it enough he might just pass it. I'd sure watch him for constipation or lethargy. How is he acting now? |
I think he should be able to pass it....keep a watch and make sure it comes out, though! Their little metabolisms are pretty fast, so it should come out by tomorrow morning. |
okay, it was about 2 inches long and 1/16 inch wide... I measured the piece from the box just now. He is acting normal.. I tired to make him vomit with my finger but no such luck.. urghhhhh |
What type of box? I wouldn't try to make him vomit at this point. |
thanks.. we will keep an eye on him. |
If he is acting normally and is drinking water, he should be ok. |
:aimeeyork Yes, It should pass allright. Pups love to chew and get into everything:aimeeyork You will see pieces of cardboard in his feces for a couple of days.:aimeeyork |
He has had two bowel (sp?) movements today, but didnt notice any cardboard ( it was one of those shipping boxes) He is playing and eating and drinking water as normal all day. thanks everyone! |
