Seizures and not urniating Also, wanted to let you know. They did do a bile acid test on her. She is also eating and drinking well. Thanks in advance for your advise and experience. |
How long has it been since she urinated? How old is she? What were the results of the BAT? |
seizures and NOT urniating Not sure if my full post came through. But she is only 9 weeks old. She is only urinating once about every 12 hours. However, she is eating and drinking well. She is on anti-seizure medication. She was in the hospital for about 10 days total. Not sure of the exact number on her bile acid test but the vet ruled out liver shunt. She doesn't want to be picked up or touched but she does want to be near you. |
Does she strain to urinate? Has she had a urinalysis and have they checked for crystals? Did they do a blood panel? If so, you should obtain a copy for your own records. Could you post her numbers on here? |
Yes, she does seem to strain to pee. They did do a blood panel and said it was normal. I will have a urine test done Monday and will definately get a copy of all her tests. Thanks for the reminder. |
Make sure they check for crystals. She could have bladder stones causing those problems. Find out the pH of her urine too. Remember that some stones do not show up on x-rays and only show on ultrasound just in case they want to check for this. Find out her BAT results too. If she stops urinating completely, it's vital that you get her to the vet immediately because her life could depend on it. Hopefully everything is fine with her. Prayers for your baby!! |
Poor baby! I wish the vet had done a urinalysis to see if there was an infection or stones she may be in pain and not want to be picked up. Let us know how she is doing |
Thanks guys I appreciate your input and will let you know Monday when I take Riley to see another vet. She still will not let me touch her and she is only peepeeing once a day. So I am still very worried. The good news is she is eating and drinking well. Also, no seizures all weekend. Thank goodness! |
I am glad she is eating and drinking. hopefully a new vet will figure out what's wrong. |
