Still Waiting for Bile Acids Retest Results
 
Logan had his blood drawn Tuesday morning, and it was sent off the same day for testing. Still, two days later, no results. I'm sitting on pins and needles. Hopefully they will call tomorrow. I just had to "vent." :(

How long did they say that it would take? How is logan doing with his potty training?

They thought the results would be back Wednesday (yesterday). Today they told me it may be tomorrow.

Logan is STILL pooping in the house. We have tried everything. So, to avoid this, he still doesn't get free reign in the house. He is either in his crate or tethered to his crate with his leash when I'm in the kitchen with him. Or he's on our laps when we watch a movie or TV.

Hang in there. Dont know the full story, but mine still do it once in a while. I hste waiting for test results.

I think you are handling the potty training issue the right way. Just keep him with you or close by. I know that has worked for me. I swear sometimes they are just in a little snit and leave a little present as your punishment. Good luck.

He has no symptoms, so that's why I'm hopeful. He is 10 months old. Last month when I took him to get neutered, they did pre-op blood work. His enzymes were elevated, so they did a bile acids test. His post-meal level was 75, which is elevated but nothing like most liver shunt cases (which are usually well over 100). Logan was put on a low protein diet and given two medications. They wanted to retest him, so we did that Tuesday. It didn't take this long to get the first test results. STILL no results!!

Praying that both issues work out for you. I am just experiencing a bit of an episode of a backslide with Zoey as well. Very frustrating time for you for sure right now.

What food were you feeding him before he was tested the first time?

Just curious if it was one of the higher protein foods.

I was feeding him a very high protein, no grain food - Evo. I've heard that high protein foods can cause elevated liver enzymes, so I'm hoping that was the only problem. STILL no word. I'm trying not to call the vet's office because I made a pest of myself yesterday. But, I really don't understand why it's taking so long. Sorry. I have little patience, as you can see :)

Understandable. This is very important and the delay does seem overly long. Do you feel you could ask your vet to call the lab to see what the hold up is? Things do get lost and misplaced. It would be a shame if you were waiting and there was a problem at the lab with the sample.
