Coughing and swollen lymph nodes 1 Attachment(s) Sammy (now 8 months old) has been coughing a little off and on since we've had him. I felt he must have allergies as he has done it more since everything is blooming. However, he sometimes "gags" himself on a toy and coughs or when he is hot from playing. Usually when I give him water, he will quit. Last night when I was putting him to bed, I felt his lymph nodes seemed enlarged around his neck. Took him to the vet this morning. She said the lymph nodes were concerning her, so she put him on an antibiotic as well as a pill for the cough. The vet said it is the equivalent of a human having laryngitis but Sammy can still bark :animal36! I'll keep you updated in a few days as to whether or not his lymph nodes go down. She said he very well could have allergies. |
I have no clue what this could be .... but I would call the Vet an ask or Google it for now and then call the Vet ...... I would not be shocked at all if the Furbutts have allergies too .... Hope he feels better soon !!! :) |
My vet explained just this week about lymph nodes. My Button has just been diagnosed with Hay Fever & his lymph nodes were up. The vet said it just usually means that the body is busy fighting off an infection or allergic reaction. It can sometimes indicate something more serious, like lukemia, but it's mostly just the body's defences working overtime. It sounds like Sammy might have something similar to Button. |
