chocolate scare My little 13 week old Suzi ate a bit of melted choclate ice cream and chocolate syrup today... My son left his bowl on the floor in his bedroom. He came out and told me.. Suzi smelled of chocolate, and got very, very hyper. I called the vet and was told to administer hydrogen peroxide. It took three adults to give her a little of it. She vomited soon thereafter. I cried, and cried ... Suzi comforted me and I gave her lots of TLC. :aimeeyork She was back to her old self 10 min. after. :animal36 My son who is a teenager, but, disabled learned never, ever to leave anything likt that on the floor ever again:( Thank God Suzi is okay!:aimeeyork |
I'm so glad all turned out well! These little stinkers sure know how to scare us! |
So glad your baby was ok |
well its really the bakers chocolate that should cause the most concern. Milk chocolate is so diluted down your baby would really have to eat a lot to be affected. Its good you learned the peroxide trick now it may come in handy if she is anything like Diggy. We have had to use it 3 times already  He is a handful. Glad to hear your baby is okay!!!!!!!!!!:p |
Well, they seem to always find ways to scare us to death!:) I'm glad everything turned out well. |
:animal36YES:aimeeyork Suzi absolutely scared me to death! i started to cry and really lose it... IT is the first time this hapened and hopefully the last! |
chocolate scare Hi, So glad Suzi is ok, cant they get into trouble so fast? Your information from the Vet. is new info. for me, how much hydrogen peroxide should be given in a situation such as you had? Thanks for the info. and again so happy all ended well!!!!!! Buddys Owner  |
I only would give her a few drops at a time until she vomited:aimeeyork It did not take much. Make sure it is 3% hydrogen peroxide. They do not like it either. :aimeeyork Truthfully, it was a horrible experience:eek: |
chocolate scare Thanks so much for your reply. This info. is life saving and I really appreciate your sharing. It is so scary when these little guys get sick. The first day we had our Buddy Reagan home he went into a coma state and we didnt know their blood sugar drop is a condition which seems to be quite frequent . I know we were stressed and freaked out for a few days running him to the vets where he received Ivs. Then for a day or two he would be ok, then darn, if it didnt happen again! Finally someone told us what was going on and to give him a few drops of karo syrup and bring his body temp. back up by wrapping him in blankets . He did outgrow it quickly but, what a trying time .:( But gosh they are so lovable and sweet, they are worth every gray hair! (Ours not theirs!) Thanks again , Blessings, Buddys Owner |
