What a beautiful little girl! I will most definitely keep her in my prayers. I went through this about two and a half months ago with my oldest. She had all remaining teeth extracted. Hold positive thoughts.:animal-pa |
prayers for your baby girl.... |
Praying for your baby. My 2 1/2 year old had her dental yesterday and I was so worried. But I had the preanesthetic blood work done which I would make sure they do and the vet called me as soon as she was in recovery. I would ask for them to call you as soon as she is out of surgery. I honestly wished I could have waited in the waiting room while she was in surgery. Please let us know when she is safely out ot surgery. |
:hands::hands::hands: Praying for your dear Princess. :hands::hands::hands:. |
Aww, I am sending you cyber hugs and saying prayers for Princess. |
Sending prayers to your Princess ! |
UPDATE: Hello everyone. Princess' surgery started about 9:30am this morning. We received some bad news and that is she needs ALL her teeth removed due to abscess. It was bad breathe and gum line discoloration that tipped us to her problem that was ongoing. It was neglect on our part to not know about taking care of her teeth that put us in this situation. (now we know) The doctor will be monitoring her vitals to see if she should go through the spayed surgery as well. She may only go through the teeth extraction only this morning. Right now it's 11:15am and her surgery will probably be done anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. If all goes well, we can see her soon after she wakes up, but won't be able to take her until later, like around 4:00pm.(central) I haven't read the replies yet, but I really appreciate the prayers. You don't know how much it means to me to see so many others care about baby girl and offering your Prayers. Princess is a joy I'm sure all of you would enjoy. I'll keep you posted. Thank you very much! Matthias |
Ah! I'm sorry about her teeth. You didn't know. She's a lucky little girl to have you love her as you do. Praying she does well afterward. Take care and keep us updated. |
Ah.....prayers going out for your dear Princess. :hands::aimeeyork:hands: She sounds like a sweetheart and you are such a great Yorkie mom to give her the vet care that she needed done. It does worry us so much when they have to give our furbabies anesthesia. Please keep us informed. Hugs to you & give Princess a hug from me when you see her next. :big_hug: |

Sorry to hear Princess has to have all of her teeth out. Keep us posted still as to the spay :) |
Update #2 We brought Princess home sometime around 5:45pm. It's now 11:36pm and am still very scared. It was great to see her awake and ready to take home, but you can tell she doesn't feel well. The doctor said she's still under pain medication.(a shot) Doc also said she won't be herself for about 2 days. Just now I went to see how she's doing on the bed and at first was very unresponsive... as if she went through shock therapy. She holds her head down and doesn't like to move around. The doctor extracted all the teeth and also did the spay. There was also a protrusion out from the side of her chest she's had for a few years that the doctor removed. It was a mammary tumor.(about the size of 1/2 a peanut with the shell) She is to take Amoxicillin(sp?) and pain medicine every day. She has a few staples on her side from the tumor removal. It's really hard to see her like this. She's always been full of energy, barking and causing a ruckus. Now she's quiet and prefers to lay still. The doc instructed for her not to eat from midnight on last night... and since last night, about 11:30 pm, she hasn't drank any water. So that means, as far as we know, she hasn't drank for 24 hours now. I'm worried about her getting dehydrated. Tomorrow morning I'll give her the first dose of the pain medicine.(oral push syringe in the corner of the mouth) I just hope she drinks and starts to feel better real soon because I'm still very very very worried about her. As for her teeth, I brought them home to show others. Many of the teeth "below" the gum line were brownish colored. It was from the abscess, etc. It was surprising to see how the plaque can damage teeth. Again I want to say how much I appreciate the Prayers. It means a lot to me. My heart would break if something bad happened to her. She has much of life left to experience and I want the chance to spoil her for many memories to come. Thank you all for your time, concern, replies and Prayers. Matthias P.S. "I had listed a similar post at another forum where my number of posts were close to 200 and I did NOT get one reply. That shows the amount of love that is here at this great place." |
