help please PLease help the puppiesgums are white and has diareahha stilll... still being lethargic . puppy not a yorkie weighs about 7 lbs and about 9 1/2 wks old thanks evryone.... |
If you have any nutrical give that to him. If not, you can also do honey. Put it in his mouth. sounds like his sugars are very low. I would take him to the er vet if you have one. If not, just keep a really close eye on him and keep his sugars up with the honey/nutrical hope he feels better soon! Quote:

have you wormed your puppy lately. Those are signs of worms. if you have already wormed it in the past day or two give it just a little karo syrup on your finger and see if it's gums pink back up. You might have to go ahead and take it to the vet. |
I would go ahead and call and head to the vet. |
Definately get some sugar into him and call the vet. Good luck |
White gums? This dog should probably be at the vets office if it has white gums and lethargic. This could be very serious, and young puppies can get severe and fade very quickly. |

I agree with the other posters, definitely get him to a vet rite away! In the mean time give him some kind of sugar. But, don't wait on the vet! It can get serious very fast with young puppies! |
UGH now I am upset and sad I see this puppy understand it need medical attention and it isnt getting it... just getting really annoyed and sad..... they feeding it the boiled chicken and rice which it is eating but it still has the runs and is lethargic and doesnt act like a puppy at all. drinking water some. and I looked at its gums and they are so pale they look white srry for vent and wrrying my frineds on here I am just so upset and sad at the same time................. |

To the op...it is imperative the animal gets to a vet's office. |

My Reese had those identical symptoms...lethagic, pale gums,...and he was diagnosed with coccidea. The only way to clear that up..is with antibotics. |

I am the OP I am the friend of the one with the puppy i cant do more till her hubby says so... sad I know but true. |
The chicken and rice should help as long as the pup is drinking water also. If you can get someone to take you to the vet without the dog and bring a stool sample to check for Coccidia it would be good. If your family will bring the dog it should be checked for Parvo. Do you have other dogs in the house? |

I think I would have to just take the dog to the vet's myself......I know it would be risking your friendship, but I wouldn't be able to watch the puppy die!! |
Update and fnal Well we did make it to the vet to find out it was.. Parvo and put it down...:( I am sad and relieved. now just praying for the 3 puppies that are 10 wks old at the house. yes they are cleaning/bleaching everywhere and cleaning more and the puppies have recevieved there first set of vaccinations... thanks |
I was just ready to turn my computer off when I saw this. I had a feeling it was parvo. It's too bad about the one pup and let's just hope the other three make it. You are a very good friend and thanks so much for letting us know. |
I'm sorry you lost the pup! Were the other pups checked out? I hope don't have it either. I'll be praying for you and the 3 pups! |
Just saw this, sorry it was Parvo and your friend lost the pup. I hope the other pups are not affected! |
