Sorry to hear about the vet problem! I'm glad your baby is well! I hope the rest of you weekend goes a lot better. |
I am so relieved to hear she's okay. Calcium, huh? That would make her belly hard and red? As long as she's okay, that's what really matters. Give her an extra hug from me and Winston! |
sounds wierd huh.. Im not 100% satisfied with the answer I got..But thats the only 911 vet close so Ill have to wait it out. Her belly is still red and shes still a little shakey..I just pray that shes ok..The vet said the redness will go away slowly and she'll start acting normal..We shall see... |
thank you I get so nervous when somethings wrong with my yorkies..I dont have kids..so they are like my babies! |
Hopefully that will make her more comfortable. |
Just out of curiosity... You said she is going through afalse pregnancy right? Are her nipples really large? Also the glands around the nipples is that what is hard and red? That may help with a breeder to tell you a little more. Iam glad you went to the vet:) |
no.. Her stomach is red..Ive had many litters of pups..This is our first false pregnancy..She does have milk..but its her stomach thats red. |
Taking blood from the neck is done when the dogs bp is low or the vet can not find a good vein. the neck is the best place to do it then. I hope your pup is ok. |
hhmm He didnt even try to find a vein first, I didnt like it..maybe thats how some people do it but I wont be going back. Good to know that though. |

.. Not that i know of..She was perfectly fine until about an houe before going to the vet. The vet said her calcium was a little low but not in a danger zone and Ill get the full results tuesday from her blood. |
So is she eating, peeing and pooping? |
yeah Yeah shes doing all of that. Shes on my lap sleeping now |
Great, that's always a good sign of health. I can understand that low calcium could cause muscle spasm...hence the limp and shakiness. But I don't understand the redness and hardness of her tummy. Maybe the vet will have more answers next week. |
Brooke has to have blood drawn monthly because she has to have a CBC done before her chemo treatments. They always take it from her neck. They told me that in tiny dogs they don't like to use their legs much because they can collapse those tiny veins and then you will not be able use their legs for IV's. I was freaked out about it too at first until I learned why they were doing it!! I hope all your little girl needs is calcium... Take care. |
