Zoey's Homecoming Zoey is home finally. But I can't get her to eat hardly anything. I have tried dry food, mixing it with water. She just kinds of turns her head. Maybe she knows something is up. Yesterday before we went to get Zoey, my husband was diagnosed with chronic leukemia. She may sense the tension. I hope this is all it is. She makes noises all the time that make me nervous, like sneezing. I will be watching her very close. I may call the vet and ask them what to do about food. I will keep you updated. |
I'm glad Zoey Grace is home. Hope you got some sleep. Know it's going to be a 24/7 job to take care of her for awhile. But the pay-off will be worth every second.:) Take care today. |
If she is sneezing and her nose is jam,she might not feel like eating because she can't smell the food. I would add a little chicken or beef broth in the food and water...It should work. If the poor little one doesn't eat because she can feel the tension... Try to hand feed.. I am very sorry for your husband bye the way. Good luck with everything :wilted_ro |
I am sorry about your husband. Zoey will bring a lot of joy to both of you. I would get a vet check just to make sure everything is ok. Also make sure she is eating even if you have to give her wet until she gets adjusted. Also Nutrical. They do tend to settle in pretty quick. |

I am so very sorry to hear about your husband. ((hugs )) to you .... |
Try scrambling her and egg and maybe putting a lil shredded cheese in there or rice works for mine... Hope everything goes ok for you...well wishes to hubby |
Sending prayers for your hubby. I think she might be depressed due to hubby. I really really think that there is something to animals sensing diseases and sickness in general. Hoping they both feel better soon. Sending you a big old hug becuase I am sure that you have a million things running through your mind at this point. |
I had a very hard time getting Babybear to eat after he got home from having his AAI surgery also.. The vet ended up giving me syringes to feed him with.. He also would not drink.. He graduated to a baby spoon.. And needless to say he will not eat out of a bowl now..LOL But that is okay with me.. You might want to try to mash up some wet food for her and try her with that.. I also put a little water in with Babybear's wet food.. I think sometimes they are so sore in the neck that they want to eat only wet food.. I will say many prayers for your husband.. I am so sorry you are going through so much right now.. Don't forget if you need anything do not hesitate to ask.. I am here for you.. |
Zoey is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping. I started feediing her wet food from a spoon last night. Today my husband said she ate pretty good. When I got home from work, I opened her crate and she started to walk out. She stands good and I let her walk just a little. All in all she seems to be doing pretty good. Thank you for the well wishes. They caught the cancer early and are prscribing him pills to take. Will keep you updated on that. |
I'm so very sorry about your husband. I will keep you in my prayers. -Amy |
Wow, you have a lot on your plate! I'm so sorry about your husband's diagnosis. Take care of yourself, sometimes care takers end up with stress related illnesses themselves. I wish your whole family nothing but sunny skies in the future!! |
Been getting news on your baby from several sources as I have been away from YT a week but I have prayed for you and your baby like crazy I am so glad things are on the up and up for you !!! Thank you to everyone who sent me messages !! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE IM FOREVER GREATFUL because I was so worried about ZOEY! The outcome is awesome .. |
I am glad Zoey is home. I would try some chicken broth with her kibble or add some boiled chicken to liven it up. Hopefully she just needs sometime to adjust to being home. I am sure she also feels the tension in the house. Prayer's coming for your husband. I am so sorry your all going threw this. I hope all works out. |
