Prayong she will pass it and the abrasions heal quickly. |
Thank you all so much for your prayers and for the "poop puns"!! :p I need those right now! Sorry to say there is no polyfiber poops yet! They have decided to give her a little more time ... so ... tomorrow will be decision time! :( She seems to be doing fine ... just hasn't pooped ... why is it, they can do it anytime you don't want them to?!? I know I won't sleep tonight ... famous words of my Amanda ... "I feel like I'm gonna snap"!!!! :) I will update you all if there is anything new ... hopefully a huge pile of fluffy poop in Trish's yard!! Heck, I'll go over and scoop for her!! ;) Seriously, please keep this little girl in your prayers ... tomorrow just has to be a good day! |
Any update? Still sending good wishes to all of you. |

Will she eat fruit (apples, blueberries) they do the trick for my two. Also, I have been feeding 1/4 teaspoon of Aloe Vera Gel that I bought at the health food store. It is drinkable and it is a natural laxative. Boy oh Boy does that make them poop. Mine went from pooping 2x a day to 4 or 5 times now.... But it has healthy benefits, so i am trying it out for a few months. |
I am so glad that Trish is back home and has her vet ready for surgery, if necessary. Sending healing thoughts for Sierra. Warmly, Deborah |
Have we had any fluffy poop yet??? |
Poor sweet one I am still Praying for Poo;) |
Come on Sierra you can do it if you try, VICTORY!:cheer: We need a big fluffy poop from you girl. Oh Trish I hope she does it today. Prayer's coming your way that it happens. Hugs, |
Was hoping for an update....no news yet? Betteanne.....please post your "magic" recipe. :p We're leaving Monday in our RV with our 5 yorkies, and something like this is my worst fear! |
Yes, please post your recipe. Thanks. |
Sorry I haven't updated today. We really appreciate all the prayers. No surgery yet ... we have a little poop but just really small, almost black. Trish is still feeding her per the vets instructions and so far she still won't touch water. Happy to report ... now, she will only eat if handfed, only on the counter and will only drink magic broth!! Have we created a monster?!? :) Today she is acting normal except for her new eating habits ... she just won't give us the giant fluffy poop that we would like to see. Trish is watching her like a hawk and unless something changes drastically, will keep up the vigil through the weekend. Please keep her in your prayers and, yes, in a few minutes, I will share my recipe for the magic broth!! :p |
Thanks for the update! Still hoping for a good outcome -- literally!:D Boy, you have created a monster though. I wouldn't want to have to deal with that lil one once she's well! |

It is surprsing that she is acting spoiled ... she has been the strong leader of Trish's pack! Independent and bossy!! I remember how it was for a little rescue that Trish fostered ... all the others welcomed him with open "paws" ... not Sierra ... she pulled each one aside one by one and it was like she lectured them until they shunned the rescue. After awhile, Sierra "accepted" the new baby and immediately they were all a happy pack again! Yorkies never cease to amaze me! |
Nonnie's Magic Broth I almost forgot and I must admit, there is nothing really "magic" about it ... wish there were. As, I have said many times .. Toto is absolutely the most stubborn Yorkie on the face of this earth! When she doesn't want something, she digs in with all four paws! She had an infection once and was so close to dehydration I was terrified! I begged the vet not to keep her ... I figured there was nothing they could do that I could not! I quickly thought about it on the way home with her ... I only had a few hours and I would have to give up for hospitalization! This is what I did .... I grabbed a bag of boneless, skinless chicken tenders from the freezer and thawed them in cold water. I drained them well on paper towels and sprinkled the top side with dehydrated, crushed parsley [no time for fresh!]. I sprinkled maybe 1/8 t. garlic powder ... figured it would entice her and that's not enough to harm. I browned them quickly in just a couple tablespoons of hot virgin olive oil. I then added about 6 bottles of ice cold bottled water and brought it to a boil. Turned it on low and simmered for about an hour and then strained it through a fine strainer. After I cooled some and offered it to Toto she drank it like a demon! I let the vet know and he had me give her about 2 T every hour until she was feeling better!! So, we named it the Magic Broth and I am seldom without it in the freezer. I use it in our food too. It has very little, if any, fat in it and tastes really good!! Sooooooo .... my dirty little secret is out ...... I almost forgot, the main ingredient is a ton of love!! :p |
We need this in the YT cookbook!! -- Or on a sticky!! Thanks for sharing. My Bubba was sick in March and my holistic vet said chicken broth - the worst thing I was horribly sick at the same time, so cooking anything seemed like major work - but I think we could have both been well off your recipe |

Thanks for posting the recipe. I've always used canned chicken broth, but I'll bet they will like this one better. |

Just checking to see if we have any "Fluffs" yet. Keeping her in my prayers. |
Hoping and praying that it ALL comes out in the end...bless her little heart...please make her well again. Poop...poop...and more poop...and please make it fluffy. |
Has there been an update on Sierra? Warmly, Deborah |
So ... did she have to have surgery? |
Prayers coming your way!! |
I am sorry for not updating sooner! Sierra, I am happy to say, is totally back to normal. Poops, being bossy, etc. I hope everyone, especially those of you who have chewers, will learn from Sierra. I had no idea that it could be so dangerous for one to eat polyfil. We are fortunate that Toto has never torn open a toy but that doesn't mean that she won't do it tomorrow! Had the medicine and treatment not worked and Sierra had to have had the surgery, the cost would have been around $3,000 to save her life! It will certainly make me much more careful and I will be watching Miss Prissy Paws more closely than ever!! ;) Thank you all again for all your prayers and for caring. i don't think I could have been more freightened had it been my Toto! |
Thank you for updating, I had been wondering about sweet Sierra! Glad it all turned out ;) |
Glad all was good news in the "end". :D Will watch the polyfill too. Good information. |
YAY! Very glad to hear that it turned out so well.:) |
I'm so happy to see that all turned out for Sierra! I can't even count the number of times Maddie has ripped toys apart...just tonight I was sewing and when I happened to look at the two little stinkers, there was polyfill all over the floor and couch. Hope they didn't eat any! |
oh thank goodness!!:D |
