Help I Need Advice I'm dog sitting my mom's york and he has an awful case of the runs. Can I give him Immodium???? |
I THINK you can.. but I have no idea what the doseage is. Try to call your vet and see if they can tell you over the phone |
I called University of Penn Vet hospital and they told me to not feed him, but I have 2 other small yorks that are free fed. They told me not to give him immodium. I feel so bad for him because I can feel his tummy churning. I still want to give him immodium, but I'm scared to hurt him. |
After he goes without eating for a while, maybe you can give him some rice with a little boiled chicken - some people use that and say it works. |
Imodium can be used for dogs but can have some serious side effects. I wouldn't give it without a vet's ok. How old is the dog? |
my mom just called her vet and he said to give him rice w/broth...would broth make him thirsty from all the salt? |

This is what I do for my Duncan when his tummy is bad. And when its bad, its really bad. This always works for us and u can get low sodium broth too. when hes a lil better I add a lil chicken or ground beef to it Hope hes better soon. |

Isn't canned pumpkin good for tummy upsets? Never used it myself, but I'm sure I've read it on here many times. Anybody know? |

i just gave him broth/rice. i hope it stops soon. i'm concerned that he lost a lot of liquid. |
I have used kaeopectate before...with my vet's knowledge. Would not know what dose to give now though...it's been so long ago. Hope all goes well for him. So sorry he's not feeling well. |
At this point I would give him more broth then rice. He can go a little while with out eating but needs to stay hydrated. You could water it down a little too. Poor little thing |
