two lovers with two different coats Hello, Wondering if anyone could help me, I am new to the yorkie world. I just purchased my second one Zoe who is 4 months old now. Her coat is def. different than my first one by the name of Cody. In my photo as you can see Cody is the one on the left. I have read about different coats and I think I have determined that Zoe's coat is a cottony one. I was just wondering if she will ever grow out of this stage and will her hair get long and silky like Cody's? I saw both of the parents and they both have long beatiful silky hair. |
I don't know the answer but I just wanted to say welcome! :) |
I have 2 and Ive decided you really cant decide what their coat will be like till atleast 9 months. Ive been told they can change for around 2 years. Goosluck with your babies. |
Thank you!!! |

I see your pics in your profile album but I cannot tell. It may still be too soon to know . |

Ah yes, I see the babies now in the "album". They have different coats but they are both beautiful. I did not even think to go look there. |
I too think the coats can be quite different, however, I also agree with the reply earlier saying to give it some time. I think as the dog gets a little older the coat changes as well! |
Welcome :) |
i have 2 full blooded yorkies..tanner is 6 months a silky blue and gold and gidgey will be 2 in september and her coat was black and tan and kinda rough but the older she gets i noticed its turning a creamy color starting at her neck down her back and its becoming silky..weird huh..lol i had a male with a cotony coat and it was so long and pretty |
I thought all puppy coats were wavey? My little Abby who was 13 weeks old yesterday has the softest coat, but it's very wavey/curly. (not really completely curls.) She's changing colors on her head, but not her back. Her back is black as night and very shiney. Maybe cottony and wavey mean too different thing? |
Thanks... I got it fixed! |
Thank you! |
