Well, I've been on the phone off and on much of the day with Vicki and she wanted me to give everyone an update. When she arrived at A&M they had already tried to get Bleu a bit excited to see what his breathing reaction might be and he had one of his episodes during this. Then when Vicki got there he had a substantial episode as well. Although not as horrific as the extreme episodes that he had last week, still not what they were all hoping for.

Upon discussion it was decided to go ahead and sedate him, so that they could get a proper look down his throat in order to ascertain what is happening at this moment with his swelling and inflammation. Vicki is now awaiting these latest results and continuing to hope that she will be bringing her boy home later this evening. There is of course concern that he is still experiencing breathing difficulties and where they will go from here in reference to a plan of action.

Of course our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Barber family. We will give more information as it is available.

Oh no I was so hoping he would not have any more episodes and get to come home. I will pray the scope will give them some answers and he will still get to come home.

Oh poor baby!!! I was really hoping the news was going to be better. I am continueing to pray for him.

I'm talking to Gayla (Layla's Mom) right now....Vicki is on her way home with Bleu Boy.

I didn't get there before they left, but from what I understand, before they brought him out they gave him something to sedate him a little for the trip home. After they visited a little, they wanted Vicki to get in her car and get him home. If Vicki does not sign on tonight I'm sure Michele will post an update.

Super! Best news ever! I wonder if that means they figured out what was causing the choking? I sure hope so. They both need to have a whole bunch of snuggle time together.

I really hope having him going home is a good thing for the poor little thing!!!!! Hope we get good updates later..

aww...glad he is on his way home! I haven't been on much the last few days and was wondering how he was doing. Continuing prayers and good thoughts to Vicki, her family and Bleu!!

Bleu Boy Update!
 

Bleu Boy and Vicki are on their way home. They should be home between 7:15 and 7:30. Bleu Boy did great when they brought him out to go home. He was still sleepy and calm from the sedatives so that will be good for the ride home. When his throat was examined, they said his tonsils were still very swollent. The left one is actually more swollen than the right one now. He will stay on his medications to continue to try and get the swelling down and heal his throat. He sounds hoarse when he barks so I'm sure his whole throat is pretty raw and irritated right now.

He did have an episode this morning that started out pretty bad but he was able to calm himself down and did fine after that. We took a video of the whole thing, and Vicki has that. We also took a lot of pictures and Vicki has those two. I have two on my camera that I took right before Bleu Boy left to go home and I'll post those here. So good news is that he's doing better and is going home. But bad news is that we still don't have any definite answers just yet and he's not completely out of the woods. Prayers are definitely needed for Bleu Boy to continue to heal and for him to be able to stay calm at home and not have any major breathing episodes. It is risky taking him home because it is possible he could stop breathing completely, but hopefully it won't get that bad. The main thing is keeping him as calm as possible.

A&M is supposed to be calling to check on him every day this week to see how he's doing. And depending on how it goes, I guess we'll see what needs to be done after this. If tonsils don't go down, they may have to be removed. And there is still the possibility that it could be more than the tonsils. So one day at a time right now I guess...we'll just pray that his tonsils will heal and that he will stop having his breathing episodes and all will get better.

Vicki and Bleu Boy were so happy to see each other. He's such a sweet boy and gave us all kisses! Here are the two pictures I took on my camera right before Bleu Boy ad Vicki left to go home

Such great news that at least he is coming home. Will continue to pray for his complete healing. How is Vicki feeling? She looks great in the pictures, especially for someone who was in bed sick yesterday.

She was feeling quite a bit better today but still pretty nauseated. Hopefully she didn't pass it on to Cynthia, Gayla and me :eek:

Awwww, I love the recent pictures of Vickie & Bleu loving each other. So nice to hear Bleu is on his way, yeaaaa!! I hope with the familys love & our Prayers he continues to show improvements. :thumbup:

That is wonderful news that Bleu is coming home. He will be more relaxed in his home and bed. Hopefully, the medication will relieve his symptoms and he will be on his way to a full recovery.

Thanks so much for the update on Vicki and Bleu Boy. Poor little baby looks so worn out and still so sick. He truly has a fighting spirit. You can tell Vicki does not feel good. I will continue my prayers. Thanks to all of you for the udates.

Yay!!! I'm so glad he's coming home! I'll continue to say prayers for him that he heals up and gets all better!

Hopefully now that the family is all back together they will all be healed.
