Allergic Reaction Bella has been sick since Friday. She has been to the vet twice now, and I have already spent a fortune on bloodwork and medicine. But it is all worth it to get her back to good health. She had some teeth pulled last Wednesday, and the vet believes it is a reaction to the pain killer she was perscribed (Remadyll). She is doing a little better now, but still not back to her normal little self. She was throwing up and had diarrhea with blood in it. She would hardly eat anything. She has since stopped throwing up, and is back to eating and drinking. The vet gave us a special food to feed her for a few days. He also gave us two different types of medicine. Reglan Syrup, and Carafate is what he perscribed to her. She is however still having diarrhea with a little blood in it. The vet wants me to give her a couple days to see if this medicine works. I have never had any problems with her before now, and am one stressed out mommy!! Please say a lil prayer for me, I want my baby girl to be well again!! Also if you have any suggestions please let me know. |
I'm sorry Bella is having this problem. You try to do a good thing for them & then something like this. I pray she will overcome this quickly. My Bella has to have this done soon too. |
I am sorry your baby is not feeling well. I know when one of mine gets really stressed she will have bloody diahrrea. Praying Bella will be better soon. |
I will include little Bella in my prayers. |

Serious reactions to Rimadyl have been reported for years. The label now states that it can cause death. USATODAY.com - Even painkillers for dogs have serious risks Rimadyl Liver damage is a side effect of Rimadyl. Had Bella had a bile acids test before anesthesia? The FDA advises dogs have a liver function test before getting Rimadyl. I pray your little girl will recover. |
I am so sorry your little Bella is ill. I will say a prayer for her. The only suggestion I'd have is maybe ask the vet if he should do a blood test to see if she's in the normal range of everything. I hate to see him wait a couple of days when she could get worse in that time. I know someone whose dog got very ill from rimadyl, but that was from being on it for too long a time and it affected his liver. He was very sick, but recovered from it, thank goodness. Hugs to you and get well wishes to Bella! |
I have no suggestions, just wanted to say that I hope Bella feels better soon!:getwellso |
