licking feet??? can someone please give me some advise? Im so tired of having to go to the vet for EVERY little thing, when more times than not, theres a remedy I can do myself. I havent asked them yet about my Elliotts feet, but hes been licking them like crazy! any advise, or recommendations to try and or possibiltites that it could be. thanks so much! |
Could be allergies-either in his food, or from the grass outside. You might call your vet, and see if they have any advice for you. My two have both done this-one required a change in diet, and one needed benadryl for her allergies. |
Yes, it sounds like allergies. Like the above poster said, either food or grass....:( |
Yep - feet licking/biting/chewing is a cardinal sign of allergies (food or seasonal/environmental) - check Pollen in your area too... |

Sounds like allergies to me too! check the food you are feeding and make sure there is no corn or wheat in there. Those are known allergens for dogs and many of the cheaper commercial foods use that for fillers. |
are they dry or cracked? they have products for dry paws. has he been walking in any chemicals? this is the time of year when people put down weed killer and other toxic stuff. |
Thank you all so much. i guess i have some homework to do.... he LOVZES the grass too! hope thats not it. i just know that here in california, its about $500 for skin test. thanks again! |
Charlie had yeast between his toe nails and caused him to chew constantly Bathed him in medicinal shampoo twice a week for three weeks, and no more problems. The test for yeast is a swab and culture. Warmly, Deborah |
