urethral bleeding My 7 year old yorkie had one episode of bleeding from his urethra about a week ago, but nothing else since that time. I thought he might have passed a kidney stone. There has been no other bleeding since last week. He doesn't act sick, eats and drinks as usual, and basically acts the same as he usually does. Any thoughts? |

I agree...Have them do a urinalysis and a urine culture...They should check for crystals. Also, I would recommend that they do an ultrasound to look for stones b/c there are some stones that do not show up on regular x-rays and only show up on ultrasound. Have you noticed any changes in the urine at all? Could it be darker? or less than usual? is he straining? |
Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I've not noticed a change in his urine but will continue to check that also. |
definitely take him to the vet for a urinalysis and culture, plus an x-ray to check for stones. sounds like he either has bladder stones or a UTI. is he neutered?? |
