liver issues? Roo had blood work done when he got neutered and his liver count was just a little low... I am getting it checked again when he goes in for his 6 mo. heartworm check ( next month) but I was wanderign what you guys may think the chances are that he has a liver problem or i fthe number were just low that day? Thanks for you answers |
I am not sure what a low number means, but I would think he is fine or they wouldn't have nuetered him. I believe as far a livers go, low is good High is what you worry about |
You might need to ask the vet specifically what was low on this liver test. Elevated tests results would indicate a problem. Liver test results can vary from day to day and still be found within normal range. |
I would bile acid test Has he had a bile acid test? I would STRONGLY advise a bile acid test for all yorkies. Mine came from a supposedly healthy line and he has had bladder problems and has LS. I never tested him because of him appearing incredibly healthy, beautiful, and coming from a show line currently doing very well in the show ring. I would bile acid test to be on the safe side. Then if something is wrong, you can prevent high medical costs and future problems like I currently have. I wish I hadn't relied on what the typical LS dog's symptoms are because maybe I could have prevented bladder problems...however...the bladder problems also could be a separate genetic problem as well so who knows but better safe than sorry I now say. |
thanks guys... i really appreciate all the good info |
