Back Right Leg Limping Hey guys. Lately Missy has been occassionally limping on her right back leg and I remember very long ago (8 months ago?) her old/former Vet noticed that she has a loose kneecap. I think it's been acting up lately from how active she can be around the house. What can cure this problem? She has an appointment tomorrow afternoon. Has anyone had a similiar problem with their yorkie? |
Sounds like it might be LP. LP needs to be controlled in the early stages by keeping them fit, maybe some joint supplements. When it progresses like in the 3 range then surgery is usually necessary. Do a search here on LP and you will learn lots more. |
just what I was going to say |

My dog has a Luxating Patella in her right leg but she has been getting acupuncture and is doing alot better. The acupuncture is used to tighten the ligaments on the side of the knee. If the joint is too shallow, only surgery can help that. I do have a 12 yr. old Yorkie that has been a grade 2 her whole life and has never had to have surgery. Good luck on your visit and I hope she doesn't have it really bad! |
