Oh, Kellie, I am so sorry that little Morgan is havng to go through this! I will be praying that you will be able to manage this without any discomfort to her. I can only imagine how difficult it is when it's your very own baby. God bless you all.

oh no :( that is a horrible birthday for morgan :(

i pray that everything will be okay and that she will not need any major surgeries or anything in the upcoming years...it was good to read that MVD could be controlled with diet and medical care ... sending hugs to both of you! :love:

Kellie, I am sorry to hear this news. Thank heavens you had an inkling that
something was amiss. It certainly pay's to be in the field you are in with
the knowledge you have in these things. Morgan is lucky to have you as
her Mommy. I am so happy for her that nothing, at this time, is effecting
her activities.

I'm so sorry to hear the news about Morgan. At least everything can be fixed and/or managed.

I think she'll still have a great birthday next week and you know you're got the best Vet care available.

If there's anything I can ever do, just let me know.

i felt so much worse then i thought i would. I see this stuff everyday and i know the success rate but the thought of doing anything more invasive then a spay just freaked me out because she's so small. I'm not even that worried about her future LP surgery. Its just any abdominal surgery that bothers me.

a year? that's not too too bad. i was thinking it was going to be over a hundred a month. some meds are just so ridiculously priced.

I can never leave AERA now LOL i'll be working for Dr. Hunt for the next 10 years just so i can afford morgan's health care. its good to be an employee :D

Morgan will probably have a great birthday. She'll get a bunch of toys she doesn't need and some good treats (low protein of course). my parents feel bad for her so she'll get some good things.

awww kallie, i am sorry to hear about your baby:( lacey to has mvd and for her if i dont stick the diet and meds they use for ls and stay strict to it she gets very ill. i am glad to hear morgan doesnt:) pm me if you want to talk:)

At the same time, I cannot think of any Momma better prepared to give her the best possible care - bc you are one smart smartikins - I learn stuff from you all the time. She is one lucky punkin'. update:

Morgan is doing great since her recent diagnosis.

I sent out a regular blood panel to the lab and everything came back normal. ALT, BUN, Protein were all normal. So i'm not 100% convinced that she has anything wrong with her liver. I'm going to keep her on the low protein diet for a few months and then retest her to see where her values are at.

On another note, i don't know if i mentioned this here yet but i don't want to go back and read my posts LOL. So when i went to the holistic store to buy morgan's low protein food the store manager who is certified in canine nutrition said that she should be on a raw diet because even though its higher in protein, the protein is easier to digest and has no carbs. :confused:

this guy says one thing and my vets say the opposite. its hard to go against the vets that i trust, but i know they don't have a lot of nutritional education especially working in a specialized field like surgery, oncology or neurology. I'm going to write the nutritionalist that Ann spoke to about Wylie and see if she'll answer some questions for me about this.

Glad she is doing so well. I had Cali's bloodwork done a month or so ago and all her levels came back normal even a little low on the liver ones. The vet came in and said she was tickeld pink about the results. Cali has very mild MVD which requires no treatment. I think that is great that Morgan's blood work is normal!!!
