My boy My baby boy Tino is in shock. He was bitten and chased out the park where we live and ontothe road, stright in to a car. THANK GOD he wasn`t hit but he did hit the bumper of the car, the driver took us to the vets to be checked out but the lady with the dog who bit him did nothing. Tino not is not eating and drinking much, he just follows me every where and just keeps crying. what is the best thing to carm him down??? |
OMG! I am so sorry to hear that. I think your baby is still in shock after such a trama. More quiet time might be needed, may be you can put your baby in a quiet room and stay with him for some time? So that your baby can take a rest and feel safe when you are there with him. May be he still feels pain somewhere? Did your vet do some x-rays to rule out any other possibilities? I hope other YTers here can give you a more helpful advice. |
That's terrifying. I'm so glad he seems to be OK. My advice now that it's over is to try to get him back into his normal routine. He may not want to go to the park, but you should gradually get him back there. If he acts upset, try not to baby him. Act normally. My guy was traumatized when we were attacked by a moose a winter or two ago. In the days and weeks afterward, he would get to the park and start pulling to go home. I felt so sorry for him that I would turn back and not make him go to the park. But it didn't seem to help. He only got worse. So I started forcing him to go just a little farther each day. Eventually, he gave in. But you'll know best what to do for your pup. Sometimes the "don't baby him" advice doesn't go over very well. You'll know what's right. |
