My Puppy Is In Trouble Need Advise Quick!!!!! My poor little pooch has her bottom inside out!!! She is still a pup and eats everything in sight. I'm afraid she ate something she wasn't supposed to. She keeps getting poop stuck on her bottom. She is walking fine and she was wrestling with her mom earlier. I kept smelling poop since yesterday but I couldn't find it. I sniffed the whole house and nothing. Then today I discovered that it was my pooch. Poor Kimi. Bathed her twice and still I find her with poop stuck to her. Her bottom is swollen and it looks like she has been pushing quite a bit. I gave her some fiber water...Any suggestions????:( :( :( :( :( :( |
Sounds like she needs a little more liquid in her diet to soften the stools and also you should trim the hair around her bottom to keep the poo from sticking to her hair. I'm not sure what "fiber water" is....are you supposed to give it to dogs? That's all I got, anyone else?? |
Sounds like fiber and water will help her. You could try some beans or some canned pumpkin to get some fiber in her. Ice cubes, pedialyte, letting her lick the water off your hands-do anything to get more water into her. Moistening her food with water might help too. Call your vet in the morning-they may want to see her, adjust her diet, or prescribe some ointment to help her little butt heal. :) |
Last time one of my pooches was sick the vet recommended I give her some pumpkin filling since it had fiber in it. I basically just mixed a pinch of fiber in some drinking water for her. Her bottom is trimmed for the most part. She is on Eukanuba puppy food for yorkies..... |
I think there is a name for this, can't remember what it's called, but the poop gets stuck, dries out and plugs the opening. It can become serious if it is not cleared. You may want to soak her bottom in the bathtub to soften it and/or give her a very small warm water enema if necessary and see if you can remove the "clog". If not I would definitely be speaking to a vet. I am not a vet this is just what comes to mind as to what I would try. Poor little thing. Please give her loves from me. |
I would definently be calling the vet. Pumpkin might help. You want to get the canned pumpkin that is not the pie filler but real pumpkin. Like someone else said too, its real important to keep the hair trimmed around the little booty so potty want stick to her. Good luck. |
Poor baby!! Good advice already given. Just gentle hugs from us! |
thnks Thanks everyone...this morning she is doing much better. as I type this she is wrestling with mommy and daddy outside and running like the wind. No poop on the end. |
Congrats. Good result. |

do you mean her rectum is actually sticking out of her anus?? That is called a prolapsed rectum and needs to be seen and corrected by a vet ASAP. Constipation and straining can cause this. |
