sick after shots? ok, Cash had shots Saturday he was fine that day and Sunday, woke up this morning to poop in the house (very uncommon for him) so I put him in the kennel, he threw up then when he went outside he threw up again, then he was back to normal the rest of the day, well tonight he had diarrhea and threw up again, of course it is too late to take him to the vet tonight and I know it is not normal, but has it happened to other furbabies? I will be taking him to the vet first thing in the morning, but I am worried about him, he is 9 months, 5 lbs so he is not too tiny but he still seems so small to me, I'm worried about him |
Sorry your baby is sick :( I don't know have any suggestions to offer you. I do hope your baby gets better soon! It does sound like your on track with taking him to the vet though. Maybe some of the others will see this and have some suggestions for you. |
If his gums are pink, he can probably wait til morning. If they turn white or pale, it is an emergency. I would give him a little bit of pedialyte. |
Keep an eye on him ... often times they can be sore or lethargic after shots ... puking and upset tummy sounds a little more severe ... :( |
I hope he is feeling better. |
thanks everyone for your posts Ellie May, I checked his gums at midnight and they were pink so I went to sleep. It's 7 here now and he seems ok, calling the vet at 9 AM sharp though will keep you posted |
Glad to hear he seems better |
Awe, poor lil fella, I sure hope he's ok. Please post an update as soon as you're able. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I ALWAYS stress for a bit after Maggy May gets her shots. She's got one more shot on April 11th to get (rabies) then she'll be good to go. Hope your furbabies isn't having a reaction the shots, but sadly, I've read a lot on furbabies having reactions to them. |
My Frederick is sick every time he gets a vaccination, but not to the extent he has vomiting or diarrhea. My vet always has me give him Benadryl for a few days after the shots and he always feels better after that. The sheet I have says that vomiting and diarrhea are more serious symptoms so I would definitely take him in. :animal-pa |
