daisymaisy | 10-22-2009 11:09 AM | My Yorkie is new to me... ...but! I just read a lot of different things about reverse sneezing and collapsing trachea because my girl was spayed, her teeth were pulled, she was tattooed and in the process of intibating her to remove/clean her teeth it was discovered that she has a possible respiratory infection complicated by a respiratory abnormal comformation. quotes. I have learned that tracheal collapse in Yorkies is quite possible and that reverse sneezing sounds a lot like the same. As for the reverse sneezing, you can put your hand gently over the nostrils to get him/her to swallow the blockage in reverse sneezing. You check for gums turning blue which is quite serious and means you need to take them in. It may require surgery. As for him/her doing the shaking, not able to exercise, etc. it does sound like the more serious of the two. However, if she is having problems breathing for periods of time, taking her outside to get her away from indoor fumes, cigarette smoke, sprays, etc...may help. Running a hot shower and sitting with him/her outside of it like you would with a baby with bronchitis. I feel for you. This sounds like you care very much for your little Yorkie. I love mine already and I have only had her for two days. Good luck and were I you, I believe I would change vets. >.<:animal-pa |
