New here, and really sorry about your baby. I am just now starting the kidney issues with mine, he's 12. He's on K/d diet and actually loves it, which is weird. And now the vet wants him on BP meds, I guess it's high. I don't have a clue what to do or where to go. I will check the link posted in this thread. This is a tough thing to deal with. I'm glad your baby is doing better. Hang in there. |
Sonja, you are such a wonderful person, I am sorry to both you and Mitzi for having to go through this... I am praying for Mitzi...... |
Lauren, you are so knowledgable. I hope and pray for Mitzi to be FINE!! We all know the heartache we feel when our babies hurt. Bless you for trying so hard and helping others. Look for my post on Why Cee! |

It's easy to help members, because so many times I don't know where I would be without them as well. How is Monday doing? I believe you had a trip back to the Vet today. Hugs, Lauren:) |

we love Mitzi Just checking in to see how Mitzi is doing. I know she is scaring the geese away, so that is a good sign. M&F send ALL their love. and C&W do also. They checked in from Buenos Aires. They are there on business again. You know, mergers and acquisitions. |
Sonya, glad Mitzi is doing better. If she wants to chase the ducks, maybe she's hungry and wants you to cook her one for dinner. a la orange?! Glad she is playing. That's good news! |

just checking in to see how you and Mitzi are doing... Have you got any valuable info from the kidney support group? Did you get a copy of all labs. can you post the values if so. I am curious to see the BUN and Creatine especially. |
Has anyone had experience with injecting fluids under the skin? Our 15 year old Yorkie is developing kidney problems. She is eating poorly ... will not accept medications easily and hates vet visits, innoculations, etc. The vet suggests we give her injections of fluids daily and that might prolong her life for a while. I don't want to make her remaining life unpleasant and would like some advice from people who have used this treatment. Thanks |

After careful consideration and replies from the Yorkie site, we decided to allow Duchess her normal life span and not to intervene with injecting fluids. She is a dog who does not like to take medications or be handled medically. She rejected taking the pill pocket we used for her medication (Denamarin) last week and since then she has started to eat well again and is much livelier. We think the medication must have given her indigestion! Good luck with Zipp. |
