I hope you are all doing well.
Holly is doing wonderful!!...a very happy and playful girl. The
She is still on the Steroids every other day. Her next check up is soon.
Her blood work last time came back better than normal. She is still very hungry all of the time....She was given a Rabies shot and heartguard...something the Vet did not want to give her until she showed signs of improvement.
Her treats are raw and cooked carrots (not to many) and green beens. I let her chew on raw hide once in a while but she is not to swallow any of it.
It keeps her gums and teeth healthy.
Now the concern is watching her weight..the Vet feels too much gain can trigger other health issues.
I will never forget the support I received on this site
You are all truly wonderful.
Love from

I am just now seeing this thread. I'm so glad that Holly continues to do well for you. My Sissy was diagnosed with extremely early stages of PLE, found when I requested blood panel to follow-up with what we thought was pancreatitis. My vet said she has never seen a single case caught this early and was only because of the requested blood panel as she has no symptoms at all.
She is on weekly B12 injections, a priobiotic, vitamineral green, BioLiv and Lipozyme, as well as Coconut Oil (1/4 tsp each day) and Colostrum at night (to boost the immune system). She is on a special diet being managed by Susan Davis (a nutritionist we consulted with via phone) and both Susan and my vet feel her blood levels will return to normal since this was caught so early.
Diet is such a key component when our babies are having issues. I would highly recommend a consultation with Susan. She knows her stuff and works out of the Arroyo Vet Clinic in California. Pet Health Pet Nutritionist Holistic Pet |
