coughing and wheezing....Help please Penny has started to cough. And sometimes when she sleeps she wheezes. It is not a snore. She had her first shots over almost two weeks ago. She is going back in another week for her second shots. Could she have a cold? Or kennel cough? You can here it in her chest. Sounds fluidy. (if u know what I mean) Help anybody. |
My Yorkie coughed all night one night and I rushed him to the vet. They said it was allergies and gave me a bottle of benadryl. Now when he gets the coughs I give him benadryl and it stops it. Don't give your yorkie benadryl over the counter. Make sure to go to a vet so they can give the proper dose based on weight. I hope that helps. |
I would take her to the vet. It may not be anything serious but just to be safe. Let us know how she is |
We took our two to the vet for the very same reason only they had a cough too. The Vet asked what type of heat we used and suggested a humidifier to put some moisture in the air. To keep one running at night were they are sleeping. It has really helped. Gas and wood heat will dry out the air. |

Poor baby! :( Get well soon little one. :getwellso |
We had the same thing going here with Yogi my 3 year old little man....After messing with it for a week, I took him yesterday to the vet and she said his little tonsils were cherry red and swollen, thats why he was coughing because of the swelling...I really felt bad thinking "he'll get over it soon"....so moral to the story....never hurts to let the Vet make the final call.....After 24hrs of antibiotics and cough med, he's a new man...Good luck to you and your baby.... |
