Question about Ear Infections Little Man's ears totally stink. I'm not sure if it is because he hasn't had a bath since last Wednesday or not. What are the symptoms of an ear infection, besides stinky ears? |
Itchy ears. It could be an infection, a yeast infection or mites. What color are you pulling out of them? |
He does scratch at them but not a whole lot. I tried to see what I could get out of them, he started squirming as soon as I touch the little hairs inside his ear. I just gave up cause I didn't want to hurt him. I'll wait until my MIL or cousin gets over here in a few and then try again. |

I didn't get anything out of his ear...poor baby really didn't like and was mad at me for picking at his ear :( I went ahead and gave him a bath and his ears smell soooooooo much better! Whew! I was worried there for awhile! He does have a vet appt on the 7th so I am going to have them check out his ears for safe precaution. |
My friends baby had... Ear Mites and she said his poor little ears smelled terrible.......he brought them home from the breeders......Ugh! |
Probably yeast or mites. If it's mites, they have that brown stuff in there ear. You could actually put that on black construction paper and see the mites moving (they're white). Petsmart has earmite meds, but I recommend he be seen by a vet. If he has yeast also, they'll prescribe something. |
Question Is it always mites if the wax is a dark color??? I was wondering.....I bath Paddy and wipe out her ears with a towel.....but tonight I got froggy and decided to clean her ears, brush her teeth and bathe her at 11:00pm.....took a Qtip with alcohol on it to clean out the crevices of the ear.......and in one ear it was dark....but she has never scratched...and it was not stinky.....but now you all have me worried....I may have gotten water in her ear the last few times I bathed her.....and did not get them dry enough.... What do you think????? |
