Coby to all his friends: Chocolate Isn't Worth It!!! Hey guys 'n' gals. Dis is Coby. Just wanted to wemind you dat Easter might be a fun holiday for our families and chocolates tastes real good, it's NOT fun AFTER you eat da chocolate. Wow, was dat chocolate good, but my mom and dad made me drink some stuff. Looked like water, but YUCK. It was hydwogen pwoxide or somefin like dat. Icky!! Made me frow up a lot!! Ugh. Den I got weal firsty, but my mom said the doc said I couldn't have any food or water for 4 more hours - not til morning! I'm.....so.......firsty!!! ............. This is Coby's mom. He was a very bad boy. Got into some malted milk balls on the coffee table. Reggie was sitting right there and either watched the whole thing unfold without stopping it OR he helped himself too.... but his weight saved him from having to ingest the hydrogen peroxide. But at least we didn't have to make an ER trip on a Sunday night. But he'd better not throw up in my bed tonight!! Good thing we can't stay mad at that face for a minute! |
oh no.... I have a cat that has gotten into chocolate cake TWICE over the past couple months. I now know that covering it up well isn't good enough...it'll have to go behind closed doors. I'm glad he'll be okay |
I'm glad he's ok too! |
Oh Coby so glad that you are OK and that your tummy is feeling better. Yup the chocolate may look good and taste good but leave the chocolate for the skinheads in the house.;) Not for furbabies. |
I am glad Coby is okay! Poor thing, all that vomiting must have been miserable. |
Coby~ Sweet boy .... you should have known better I bet that chocolate was good but maybe not so good after all..... You behave yourself now and stay out of things you have no business in and you get well soon.... To mommy~ I know you were just out of your mind and you may still be worried a tad I just wanted to say the worse part is over and now to the RECOVERY... Just something else to add to Cobys stories to look back on one day...:) Hugs Vicki |
Oh no! Poor Coby! I'm so glad he's okay. Feel better little guy! *hugs* |
Aw, poor Coby! Glad to hear he is ok though!! |
I hope you are feeling better Coby! |
Thanks and one more question....... Thanks everyone!!! Coby seems to be his ol' self today. Hopefully the only things he is lacking are: 1. a tummy full of chocolate 2. some of his monkey climbing skills 3. and terrible parents that leave toxic treats within reach of climbing monkeys! That was our first experience with induced vomiting all by ourselves. But I must say that YT is what gave me the courage to do as instructed by the ER. I have read that several of you have had to do that. I thought I should be able to also. So THANK YOU for the courage you didn't even know you gave us last night!! :D One follow up question tho to you seasoned vomit inducers. ;) ....... How is the best way to administer the hydrogen peroxide? We used a syringe but I was so afraid of some of it getting into his lungs. How do you guys do it (specifically)? |
Ohhhh that poor boy! I am glad he is doing well! I have never had to induce vomitting!! |
I use a syringe, too, but when I called the ASPCA Poison Hotline, they had a fit when I mentioned that method. Poison control said that the dog could asperate. Was supposed to get them to drink it. Now how does one do that? Tried. Failed. Went back to the syringe. No time to waste when there's poison in a furbaby's tummy. |
Oh Coby, I'm so glad you're okay! Isn't it amazing how these little stinkers can climb? When we first got Izzy, she was 7 months old. She climbed up on my side sofa table and got into some potpourri that was there. Thank goodness it was pretty old, there was no scent left and I don't think she ate any:laugh: But we since learned that we can't trust her furry behind! |

Looking forward to seeing if anyone else has any tips. |
I am so glad that Coby is ok and was spared harm from the evil malted milk balls. Boy those things are yummy! |
