At last check what is your dog's normal temp? At last check what was the "normal" temperature for your dog? Hi All, I googled normal temperature for canines and small breeds and I keep getting a different answer. My vet said usually 102 is normal but Mya who has been checked with 2 themometers is 100.5 My vet told me not to panic that she was fine. She is 27 days pregnant and likes to spit out food at me...lol Her favorite dog food, puppy food, cheese, eggs, anything that contains wheat. We are in to chicken and beef and Ensure for drinking. She is finally drinking more water. YAY. She refused pedialite. She is not chilled she sleeps swaddled in baby blankets or in bed with me under a duvet. |
We're always told here that the temperature is normally 101.5. It can vary slightly. It does drop by a few degrees shortly before they go into labour, but your little girl has a while to go yet. |
101.5 sounds good to me Quote:

I would consider normal to be between 100.5 and 102.5. |
101-102 is an average normal range for a dog's temp. If a dog has a temp under 100 or over 103 then there might be a cause for concern |
Normal temp for pregnant females is 100-101.8 usually the temp is not down to far the first month though. You should first know what is a normal temp for her before pregnancy, then you will know what is to low or too high for her. Temp of 102 or over is a fever for my vet, depending on symptoms and circumstances. |
Max isn't prego but his temp the other day was 100.6 F (rectally) |
