I just bought baby carrots and sweet potato sticks form Costco should I cook it first? |
I forgot to mention, make sure the lactulose to her at meal time 3-4 times per day. And remember, add water to the food each time you feed her :) At least 3, preferably 4 or more small meals per day. I will check for an update tomorrow! |

Cook the baby carrots and sweet potatoes and then mash them up. Cook up 1 egg white (not the whole egg) and cut the egg white into about 5 pieces. Add only 1 of those 5 pieces that you cut to some of the mashed carrots and sweet potatoes. One egg white contains 3.5 grams of protein which is basically all the protein she can get in an *entire* day, so do not give her more than 1 of those pieces within 3-4 hours of each other. Make sure to serve it with the mashed veggies I mentioned. Also, do not give her egg white once she starts eating the RC Hepatic again because you will overload her with protein and she will get very sick again. |
This is just temporary until you can get her some Dogsure or Pediasure or until she gets her appetite back. Let me know how she does with this... If it doesn't work, then we will figure something else out. Does this help? |

I would not give nectarines because I believe they are acidic, and liver compromised dogs should not have acidic foods because of their tendencies to have acidic urine which provides perfect environment for ammonium urate stones. |
