My Poor Shadow I just don't know what to do. He was fine yesterday, but this morning, I went to pick him up as usual, and he started squeaking and crying. I looked all around, there are no visible injuries, and he did not have any falls, or injuries recently. I gave him some Children's Tylenol to try to ease the pain he was having. Now, he's holding his head only to one side so he's got me thinking stiff neck? Perhaps a pulled muscle? I have an appointment for the vet tonight, but he's got me so worried. They have such a way of looking at you all helpless and pathetic. Does anyone know of any other ailment that could possibly cause this - so suddenly? |
I don't have any idea, but I don't think I would want to wait until tonight. Can't they get you in sooner? Or may to someone else? Poor little guy. |
Dont give him anymore tylenol it is toxic to dogs. Call your vet! |
I dont mean to scare you but your vet may want to induce vomiting on the tylenol. I would call now |
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, the vet cannot see him any earlier than 4:00 today since he is all booked up until then (He's staying later for our appointment). Also, it was the vet who suggested that we just give him a drop or two of the Children's Tylenol if he seemed like he was in pain. I never heard that Tylenol was toxic to dogs. Thank you! |
Heres just one artcle I found on it by googling but also My Vet has said to neve give ithttp://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=32022 |
Please listen to Chachi on this one. Tylenol should never be given. This sounds like an emergency. Do you have an ER vet? |

tylenol I never heard of a vet telling someone to give tylenol. It can cause irreversable liver and kidney damage. Asprin can be given to dogs bur never tylenol |
So aspirin is okay? What about Advil (Ibuprofen)? |
Dont give Ibprophin. Here is a good site an asprin dosage http://kitchen.robbiehaf.com/PetHomeRemedies.html |
