Oh , no! That just breaks my heart- yes wash every thing with bleach- i have heard even spay yard with bleach water- it can live in the ground for a long time! Why do babies have to get sick? Praying for a speedy recovery! |
Hoping for an update on your baby..God Bless. |
UPDATE on Franklin I called the vet first thing this morning. They said he was fine! :) Apparently he was really perky earlier and now he's resting comfortably. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I know that's how he made it through last night. Keep them coming, he's not home yet! What are your thoughts on visiting him? I won't be able to hold him or anything. I'd only be able to stand a couple of feet away and say hello. I don't want to get him all excited and leave him all over again. Out of sight, out of mind, right? |

Parvo Hi I just wanted to tell you that Tootsie is a Parvo survivor. In spite of the fact that she had had all the necessary shots, she came down with it, at six months. She contracted it from a little puppy that we had brought into the home, as a little companion for her. He became very, very, sick, and they could not pull him through. He was only ten weeks old and very tiny. That alone, devastated my husband and I. A few days later, I didn't like the way Tootsie was acting, we took her to our vet, they gave her a parvo test, and sure enough she had it. We rushed her to the emergency clinic, where they grabbed her right out of my arms, and immediately started an I.V. (It is very important that they have fluids and do not get dehydrated) I had never left her, and it was so very hard on us both. To make a long story short, she spent the weekend. they pulled her through, and we were able to pick her up on Sunday. They assured us, that none of her organs were damaged, Thank God! While she was away,on the advice of the vets, we scrubbed the whole house from top to botton with a bleach solution, threw out all the toys that her and the puppy had come in contact with, also her bed, and replaced it with a new one. This was done,on the advice of the vets, as a prevention, in case my daughter or anyone else were to bring their dogs into our house. What I am trying to say, is that they can survive paro, it sounds as though you have gotten him in soon enough. Anyways, she is eighteen months old, and very healthy. Janelles |
I forgot to wish you good luck, and I'm sure he will be o.k. Tootsie and Teddy( we finally did get her a sweet little companion) and I have our fingers crossed, and we'll say a little prayer for you. Janelles |
I'm so glad Franklin is doing so much better! My cousin lost her dog to Parvo, and it was so difficult for her. I wish they caught it sooner, so she could have been saved. But, I hope Franklin gets through this just fine ... looks like he's on his way to a full recovery :D |
Glad he is doing better. I would be afraid of upsetting him if you went to see him and couldn't touch or hold him. It may confuse him. Praying he is home soon. |
