I will update you all again tomorrow as soon as i hear from the vet....He is a wonderful vet and i have lots of faith in him....again ty all so much !!!!! yt members are the best!!!!!! |

We will be praying for your baby! |
Omg This is freaking me out so much because this is the exact thing that I went though last night. Seriously, word for word. We went to the Vet ER at 1:30am. Theo was examined and the vet didn't see anything in his mouth or throat. They took an xray and didnt find anything. The vet said that although it may look like blood, it probably isn't because the stomach acid makes blood from the stomach look like coffee grounds. He offered to watch my dog over night. He said that because Theo was attentive and acting pretty normal he thought that it was premature to run more tests. And if he got worse I could come back or wait until morning. I took him home and I watched him all night and my BF watched him all day. He was fasted until this afternoon. He is acting fine now. No more vomiting after we got back from the vet. Running around and playing. Not to say that you shouldn't still be worried, because I am still keeping a close eye on him, but I feel you pain. I drove to the ER in a snow storm, in the middle of the night, balling my eyes out and got two hours of sleep before working for 13 hours. Hes my boy and I love him more then anything. |
Poor baby. Praying for a full recovery. |
I hope the night was kind to this baby. |

Great to hear she is doing so well. |
I just saw this thread and am so glad to see your baby is doing well! My Maddie had that same thing happen about a year ago. She had thrown up and it was mostly blood. I didn't see her do it...I was in the shower at the time and she had thrown up in many different areas. I called my vet and he was out of town, so told me to take her to another vet at his office. The first question he asked was, has she gotten into any poison. She hadn't, and was treated with meds and quickly got better. I never did find out for sure where all that blood came from, but it sure is scary when something like that happens! Get well wishes to your little sweetheart! |
They will eat just about anything. You have to make sure your floors are always clear of any sharp items, poisonous plant leaves, strings, rubberbands etc. The funny thing is that we can't get Pookie to chew up and swallow a broken pill, even the flavored ones, but she'll eat plastic, foam peanuts, fuzz, screws, broken glass, wallboard, and my pills, you name it. Luckily we've been able to stop her before she's done any damage, but even watching them sometimes isn't enough. They find stuff in places you can't get to. And I mean we WATCH her constantly. |

My baby did this too!! Wow I came on here searching to see if I could discover why my yorkie might have vomited up blood but had no other symptoms of anything being wrong and I see others have had this happen also. He vomited twice last night, second time had more blood that the first but other than that he acted fine. I watched him all night for symptoms but nothing showed until the next morning when he slept a bit more than usual which could have been from lack of sleep the night before. The only thing we could figure out was that he had swallowed or eaten something he shouldn't, which he has done before. We try our best to keep everything up out of his reach because he is worse that a child about getting into stuff. All we were able to find was a cough drop paper under our dinning table, as finicky as he is I can't see him eating a cough drop but who knows. I am glad your puppy is doing better. Mine is doing better also, but that bloody vomit sure was scary. |
