Blood in vomits and stool
 
Tiffany is twelve years old. Once every two weeks or less, she starts doing something funny with her mouth and tong, and I know that the crisis is about to start. A few minutes later, she throws up whatever is in her stomach, and when i look usually is very bloody. Right after that she has very bloody stools. Then it stops. A few hours later, the same thing repeats, between the crisis she sleeps a lot, obviously, poor baby. And then stops for two weeks or maybe more.:(
This has been happening for at least two years. My vet suggests that probably because she has a shy temper, she gets very nervous and attacks her gastrointestinal system. He says its not parasites or an infection.
She has a very soft diet based on chicken because she canīt tolerate meat.

So, to go to straight to the point, has anyone ever suffer anything like it with your babies??:confused: :confused:
Has anyone find another explanation??

I Agree 2nd Opinion And I Was Just Told By Our Surgeon No Chicken Too High In Protein And Can Have Liver Issues..your Baby Is Older Than Mine So Please Check With Your Vet I Dare Not Mislead You As I Am Still Being Educated ... Please Do Not Wait... Get Help Right Away

Yeah, the chicken is high in protein, and if all your Yorkie will eat is it, the try to find an alternate and bait with chicken, if you know what I mean.
This sounds very much like the problem that eventually became the demise of our Rusty this past October.
Our vet never did find a logical reason for the occurance, even after doing at one point an exploratory to look for a cancer type of problem.
Finally got to the point that Rusty would or could not even keep down water.
Our vet was partly of the opinion that it could have been associated with an immune problem.

If only one had the funds and resources to keep going one never knows if someone at the Guelph vet. college could have found the answer.
Its the old story, the only thing that beats cubic inches is cubic money, if you know what I mean.

Hope all works out, by the way Rusty was 11 years old when this developed.

May the Good Lord look out for all the Yorkies of the world.

Please try Wellness Senior Super 5 mix . Cassie had this problem for years and she is 10 now. I put her on Wellness an month ago "she is doing great". I finally figured out she can't have any soy, corn, and grains. I give her a 1/4 cup of dry and add tablespoon Wellness lamb and rice in the can twice a day. Lamb is ok but not the chicken. She loves it and has not went through cramps and runs yet. Yes she would have bloody ones. For a treat I give her "Wellness fruit biscuit" not the peanut ones. Hey this is worth a try, because I have been fighting this since she was two.
