Sick...Need Advice I am really worried about Annie. She is 15 months old now and 3 - 4 pounds. Last night she started having diarrhea and then vomiting. Her temperature is normal and she doesn't look sick...just a little weak. She is throwing up every hour ((just clear or yellow tinged thin liquid)). Any ideas on what I can do for her? Thanks, Kasey & Annie |
I would give her honey and water to help settle her stomach and a little canned pumpkin for the diarrhea. Watch her close. Also some pedialite would help. I hope your baby gets to feeling better. |
It sounds to me like she has stomach upset. I just went through this over the holidays with Logan. Is it possible she ate something unusual? Anything can do it, rawhide, people food, paper. My vet recommends rice & cottage cheese for an upset tummy. Is she eating & drinking? If she can't keep anything down it's could be a blockage. If she can keep stuff down & seems to be getting better then she probably just ate something that didn't agree with her. If your vet has sat. hours I would see if they could see her just to be safe. Make sure you give her nutri-cal or karo syrup to keep her blood sugar up. |

At her size, I'd get her to the vet for IV fluids. You don't want to mess around, the little ones dehydrate SO quickly:( :hands: Prayers going up that your baby gets better quick:love: |

I called the emergency vet and they open at 8:00 tonight. We have been giving her a few cc's of pedialtye and her nutrical every half hour. She is now resting and has kept it down for over an hour. My fingers are crossed but we are ready to go the the ER vet at 8. Thanks everyone for your advice...we tried a little bit of everything!! Kasey & Annie |
