Sophie's getting tested today 3 Attachment(s) We took Sophie into see the Vet this morning. They are doing some testing for liver shunt, and we're praying for the best. It will be nice to know either way, so we can know how to best care for her. We just want her to be healthy and live a long long happy life. We'll find out her results tomorrow. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. These pictures of Sophie were taken 2 weeks ago. She's 5 1/2 mths. old, and 2 lbs. of puppy lovin'. |

Sending prayers for Sophie and Get Well Wishes . |
Sophie is so adorable!!! :) I'll be saying a little prayer for her... If there is a problem, feel free to pm me. I have been dealing with Miko's liver condition for 3 yrs now and he is healthier than I've ever seen him. There is a group on yahoo groups for liver shunt and MVD that is full of awesome information. I'll give you the link if you need it. I will pray that there's not a need for that though ;) Please keep us updated. Sophie looks like such a sweetie!! |
Sophie is so adorable! Great photos too. :) Sophie and your whole family will be in our prayers. |
Great News!! Sophie's tests came back today and they were negative for liver shunt!! We are so happy for her. She is just so tiny... I couldn't imagine her going in for surgery at her delicate size. Now we are focusing on fattening this girl up, and hopefully she'll gain some weight in the months ahead. ALSO.... we're getting her on some PET INSURANCE!!! The thought of paying for a liver shunt surgery out of our own pockets was a scary thought. Pet insurance feels like a necessity to us now. Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. Knowing that we would have had so much support and knowledge from you all, really took alot of the fear out of this whole situation for us. BIG HUGS! Love, Sophie and her mommy |
Yeah!!! I'm so happy for you and Sophie!! :) Such wonderful news! FYI Pet Insurance won't cover liver shunt surgery because it's a genetic condition. Thank goodness that Sophie is healthy!! |
What wonderful news!! I'm so glad to hear Sophie is healthy!! Sophie is so adorable and tiny. |
 Good news! |
That is great news...Yay Sophie!!! She is soooo cute, I am so glad that the tests are negative. The thoughts of a liver shunt is so scary and I think the possibility is always in the back of any yorkie owners mind. |
Yippeeeeeee!!!!!!!   |

I'm SO GLAD that Sophie's tests came back negative!!! Maybe she is just a petite little girl! I would suggest putting money away and not spending it on the insurance. I didn't find that it has helped at all and think that just putting some money away in a savings account for her each month is a better way to go! |

I agree. I think that's what the majority of us do. The time to do it is now, while she is a puppy. That way you can build up a nice sum of money if she develops any problems as she gets older. Insurance doesn't cover so much, plus I've heard if you do have a sizable claim, they won't renew you, so all the money you've invested is wasted. |
