my yorkie is not moving this morning when I woke to feed my dog he wasn't moving...he could lift his head but he didn't react to any of the usual calls for food, treats or even to go out. When he went to bed last night he was fine he was playing and then got tired and when he went to sleep I put a cover over him and when I woke this morning the cover didn't move so I know he didn't hurt himself in the middle of the night. At first I thought he may have had a stroke. We rushed him to the emergency vet and he had x-rays but they showed no fractures or breaks. The doctor also felt that it was not a stroke based on his exam. She said it was muscular. She gave him a needle and pills....he seems to be even more lethargic but does now at least limp to his bed if I stand him but he is not reacting much. Has anyone had this happen and do dogs usually get this way when they have a sprain....I am concerned |
I hope he is going to get better, I am glad you had him seen by a vet already! No time to waste in a situation like this. |
Poor baby. If he is not better in the morning I would certainly take him to your regular vet. I will pray for you. |
poor lil guy! hope he gets better soon! |
Iam so sorry he is sick, praying he will be ok. |
Hallee was like that, one night went to bed fine and woke up in the morning and she would hardly move. She would not respond to my voice or anything. When I sat her up I could have pushed her over with one finger. Her tongue was grayis. We rushed her to the vet and her blood sugar was way way too low. She was put on an IV. Thank goodness we got her there when we did or we could have lost her. We pay close attention at night and make sure both Hallee and Gracie eat before going to bed. We have not had any problems since. Sounds like your situation is different. Hope your little one gets better. |
Thank you for all your prayers.....Rudy is not eating and hasn't gone to the BR all day. The vet has assured me this is his way of showing pain since he doesn't cry. During the exam he only showed discomfort when his shoulder was touched....I am just overly worried since three weeks ago my cat of 5 years had a heart attack and passed away. I just wanted to hear if other yorkies act this way when they have a torn musle. The vet also said he will be ok even though he hasn't eaten or drank all day she said to let him just rest. I hope she is right..... |
I'm sorry you're baby is sick. I'd take him to your regular vet asap., because I'd want to know what's causing it. |
Poor baby please :getwell: |
I'd take him to my regular vet today. Hope he gets better soon. |

Welcome to Yorkie Talk you will find a lot of nice people and caring people on here. give your sweet baby a gentle belly rub from Babybear and I. And I will keep you in my thoughts. |
Hope you were able to get to your vet and your baby is doing better. |
We need to know how old is your pup? If he is a puppy he probably has hypoglycemia you wouldn't believe how many vets miss this ALOT, and if they didn't give him an IV and you haven't been giving him karo syrup or Nutrical he is going to DIE. He needs hamburger and rice to eat and karo syrup or Nutical. I sure hope your pet isn't a puppy. and I hope you find a vet that will figure out what the problem is. Prayers are coming your way Good luck. Welcome to YT amnd sorry you had to join under these circumstances but hopefully you have found us in time. Good luck and Many Prayers. |
