Does your yorkie ever feel hot to the touch?? Sometimes Reese feels so hot to touch...tonight especially...Is this common?? How do you tell if they have a fever??? |
My golden does sometimes, freaks me out because I just know she's feverish. :) I make sure she has water and take her out and then she seems to cool down. I've noticed that when she gets some anxiety she gets warmer. Reese just might be feeling a bit under the weather like we do sometimes. Big hugs and if that's the case, I hope he feels better after some rest. |
Does he appear to suffer from allergies? My older dog has air-borne allergies and the vet told us, his hot skin is a symptom of the allergies. Just a thought. |
she does have allergies, which I guess makes sense...sometimes she feels so hot and her inner ears look pinkish too..i just worry about her..she is acting fine though, and her nose is nice and wet too....I am a hypochondriac about my dog!!:D |
Cali has allergies bad and we cannot identify them after much testing, but I have noticed her tounge is always really hot and neither of my 2 other dogs tounges are that hot. |
I do know normal temperature for a dog is 101-102.5. If your baby would let you, you could maybe check her temperature rectally. Probably easier said than done. |
It's funny you ask this. Just today I noticed that Daisy's throat seemed to be warm. She wasn't warm anywhere else and I thought I might have imagined it. A little later my husband mentioned that Daisy's back felt warm. When I touched it it had already turned cool. We have had her for 4 years and she has never felt warm like that before and we both noticed it. I am going to keep checking her tomorrow and see if she seems ok. |

She fells really hot to the touch and she scratch herself a lot. What can they be allergic to? I thought this was just there normal self? |
You are not alone in this. My Cinnamon always feels hot to the touch, especially on the top of her head. I now know she is always like this, but it used to freak me out. She also has some skin allergies if that is at all related. |
Deiter does when he has been playing hard. And lays down on my lap. |
Hello, my Yorkie, had severe allergies. Tried every medicine every expensive food. Finally found resolution with new Allergy pill called Apoquel. I give her 1/2 pill daily and my baby has finally grew allup her hair back. You can only get this from vet I believe. Hope this helps! It sure helped my little Susie. :) |
My little one feels rather hot at least once a day. She don't seem to have allergies and is full of energy. Vet has told me she is fine. |
I noticed that with Muffin sometimes. First thing I do is wet her paws with cold water, if that doesn't cool her down within 5 minutes then I would be concerned enough to call my vet BUT the wet paws always seems to help, she's fine and raring to go... so far. ;) |
Dogs have a higher normal body temperature than humans do. My boys can produce a lot of body heat when they curl up to sleep. They leave warm spots wherever they rest. |
