Coby took a BIG fall....
 

He seems to be okay, but I'm just looking for any advice on things to watch for.

Reggie was on my lap, so Coby was acting up and being silly. He jumped from the couch to the "back" of the high-back recliner we were sitting in. He's not "allowed" up there, because it's so high and scares me to death. I've disciplined him, but he was lickety split fast tonight. He apparently lost his footing and fell off the back. It all happened so fast, and I couldn't see how he landed because I was in the chair (on a leg, his back, his head?). All I know is that he screamed and screamed and was in his beanbag bed before I could get out of the chair (I think poor Reggie fell to the floor because I jumped up so fast). Coby screamed for several minutes and then quieted. He layed there for a few more minutes and then got up and seemed nervous but okay. I felt around everywhere on his body with no cries.

After getting up, for some reason, he demanded several treats. I didn't want to give them because I was afraid he'd be sick, but he was sort of freaking out for his treats. He seemed really antsy for a few more minutes and seems still hyper but fine now, playing again.

I guess he's fine. But what should I watch for this evening? Tummy ache? Pottying? Nervousness? (check! on that) I just want to make sure he's okay. Right now, he's barking for another treat. Should I keep feeding him?

My hubby and I can hardly breathe right now. We figure he's fine, but the recent sad stories of freak accidents........... well........

......... On the bright side, Zoeybear's new beanbag bed was his destination when he was hurt. He likes his new bed!

I'm sorry to hear about your fall. I hope that you are ok. It sounds like you are doing everything right. I would just keep an eye on him. But if you don't fill nothing or he doesn't cry then he is probably ok. Might have just scared him more than anything. Keep me posted on how he is.

Poor baby. Sounds like he is doing OK. He's got Mommy and Daddy feeding him treats! Im glad he likes his beachball bed. Hugs from Zoeybear!

I think it was that tough boy camo print you made his bed with that helped him toughen up. ;)

Oh, poor little guy. It sounds like he isn't hurt. I know you must have been terrified as I would have been. I will say a prayer for the little guy that he will be ok. Let us know how he is doing tomorrow.

We are always in worse shape than they are. That's the way they like it. lol. They love to keep us on our toes. That way they know they are in control. At least they think so. lol.
Hang in there. Cody will be just fine. If not showing any sign yet, then I am sure he is ok. Plus now he probable knows the more he acts scared and hurt the more treats he can have. lol

Thanks! He's starting to play with Reggie again (they play pretty rough). Think it's okay to let 'em rough house as long as he seems happy and okay? No need to "quarantine" him?

So how is Coby doing today? We said a prayer for you last night. We hope you are doing better today.

Cody don't do that again you might get hurt. And you worry Mommy and Daddy to bad.

:thankyou2 Thanks for the prayer and for checking in on us. He was extra "hyper" last night, even when going to bed. I'd describe it as having a "crazed" look on his face and acting that way too. Like it scared him to death too! Today, I was home with him all day. He seemed no worse for wear today. He just has no fear it seems. He loves to just jump and fly. He's hard to keep calm let alone out of trouble. ;) I wish I could pad a room for him and just let him go..............

Poor baby:( I know what you mean about being scared!! I have went through it twice!! I hope hes doing much better now. Give him a kiss from Aubrey and Dakota.

Ahhhh, I do remember the bed too. You felt bad for having two falls. Whatever! :D It seems like they are impossible to keep completely safe. We're in the process of looking for a smaller coffee table now. The one we have is glass that overhangs the base. They just don't seem to notice the glass. They've both bumped their heads on it so many times lately when they're playing. I still think the padded room would be better (for both of us!).

yes, the padded room would be the best thing EVER!!!!

Deiter is afraid of jumping, He won't even walk on my legs if they are up on the stool. He will get down and come over to be picked up. I guess he should of been a girl...lol

Now Cozmo he is not afraid of anything. And I mean nothing. He jumps, fly's at least tries to. He will walk on the arm of a desk chair. He doesn't care. So opposite the two of them are.

Coby and Cozmo are soul brotha's! :cool:

I just saw your thread! I'm so glad it looks like Colby came through that fall without any serious injuries! These little ones can scare the dickens out of us! There's nothing worse than hearing them cry out in pain! Maddie and Libby send Colby kisses!

I was trying to equate what at least a four foot fall with "yorkie velocity" to a little one that barely stands 6" tall would be like to us. :eek:

Sounds like a pretty terrible scare, glad the outcome is he's fine and acting normal. Word of advise "If he's limping and looking pittyful heading to the treats, He's soaking it for all its worth",lol...Glad he's okay!!

OMG - your post made me sooo laugh out loud. Coby's just looking at me now mad that someone has busted him out!

LOl can ya blame him!!! He's no dummy and figures if it gets him more treats why the heck not!!

P.S. Mine get away with it too, so dont feel like your the only sucker for a cute Yorkie smile and pittyface,lol!!
